Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! brings back on iOS and Android the endless run genre, delivering a slow-paced, less frantic experience than the great classics.

On the Run is an interesting mobile experience for Crash Bandicoot fans on mobile, but microtransactions are a bit obtrusive.

The nostalgic trappings of the experience are a ploy, and one that works pretty darn well. The game bears the hallmarks of nostalgia, of a glimpse into a rose-tinted past, but unabashedly uses them to drag the player into a more mundane and general present.

Ultimately, On The Run! it is a dignified product, aware of its limitations and aimed mainly at a very young audience. For this Crash Bandicoot mobile trip, in any case, we would have liked a little more balance and liveliness anyway.

A fun game that is burdened by time restrictions and the continuous micro-payments that it proposes and that, in the end, are a continuous brake to fully enjoy the game.

It looks the part, feels the part, but is lacking essential features to make this a genuine Crash Bandicoot experience.

Crash Bandicoot: On The Run is a fun, but overly simple mobile rendition of one of gaming’s greatest mascots. Overly aggressive advertising and an in-game economy that doesn’t respect players’ time sour what could have been a memorable endless runner...It’s less 'On The Run', and more endlessly waiting around.

There are countdown timers, bosses are oft-repeated re-skins with identical action, and Crash’s runs soon become repetitious, with progress gated behind either a tedious grind or microtransactions. Despite its colourful palette On the Run! is almost aggressively bland.
