Crash of the Titans Critic Reviews

You may have been expecting yet another "Crash" afterthought scheming to fleece you of another fiddy, but this is a rebirth well worth the investment.

Crash of the Titans, in our opinion, sees the Bandicoot returning to his former glory. If you are after a decent platformer to play alone, or with a friend, we doubt you’ll come away from this one disappointed.

Despite following the same formula as a lot of adventure titles, Crash of the Titans' new idea of taking over enemies to resolve battles and solve puzzles is quite unique. Throw in a two player co-op mode and you have some nice replay value on your hands.

With its juvenile humor and low difficulty this is probably targeted for kids, but it's a decent holdover until "Super Mario Galaxy" comes along.

The six hours it will take you to complete the twenty-level contest hardly feels substantial. It is not the slam-dunk comeback fans hoped for from Crash's 360 debut, but it is far from a failure.

It's a fairly sturdy, combat-heavy platformer with a good hook, but it lacks a real distinct attitude.

Mistaken assumptions aside, the Xbox 360 doesn’t exactly have a lot of new, colourful, non-shooty blood and gore type games, so if that’s what you’re shopping for then while you couldn’t do much better, you equally couldn’t do much worse right now.

This may be little more than a last generation game with upgraded visuals, but it does what it’s supposed to, it’s a fun platformer that‘s not too taxing on the brain.

Not as sophisticated as many Xbox 360 games out there, Crash of the Titans is, at the end of that day, a scrolling platformer. It doesn't need to be sophisticated - it needs to be fun, frantic, colourful, noisy, winsome and comical, which is exactly what it manages to be.

It's yet another game in which the mind-numbing clichés of platformers haven't been challenged, but embraced, oh-so-ironically.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, a solid platformer with a few twists and some nice ideas. Could have done with another coat of polish though.

There simply is not enough "Meat" here to cater for older gamers who undoubtedly will breeze through with their eyes half shut, whilst eating, smoking and watching another TV at the same time.

A good idea wrapped in a mediocre game.

Crash Bandicoot is one of the all-time great platforming characters, not a brawler, so let's keep it that way.

Crash of the Titans is an interesting proposition for platform fans. As a new game in the series, its star loses a bit of shine and character, due to the emergence of titans.

Save for the cooperative mode, there’s not much here worthy of a gamer’s time that is devoted to buying and renting the best games.

It isn’t as impressive as the original games were, but overall Crash seems to be making titanic steps in the right direction.

We were pleasantly surprised by Crash. The ability to take over creatures lifts the standard linear platforming from banality.

Taken on its own, Crash of the Titans is not a bad game. It does improve the series with the introduction of new gameplay ideas, but nothing you haven't seen before.

As much as I pick on Crash, I was secretly hoping that Crash of the Titans would put him back in the spotlight. It had an excitingly original concept but failed to take full advantage of its possibilities.
