The next major free content update for Cult of the Lamb will be a digital interactive comic: "Where all your decisions will take you on an exciting adventure"

Massive Monster, the developer of Cult of the Lamb, has announced plans to release a digital interactive comic.

"A brand-new interactive digital comic where your choices will lead you on a colourful journey with new secret missions, Follower forms and outfits for your beloved Cult!" The devs explain in a Steam post. The new Follower forms are a panda (or echidna), a yellow hippo, and a blue echidna.

Carles Dalmau will illustrate the Pilgrim comic pack. He has previously worked on Cult of the Lamb, a sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games and SOMA, a sci-fi horror. Jojo Zhou will also write the story, who is the head of narrative for Massive Monster.

The best part is we won't need to wait too long. It will be released on 12 August, at the same time that the Unholy Alliance update is released. You'll be able enjoy this new story along with full campaign co-op.

The teaser trailer provides a small preview of what the comic will look like. We see a small forest critter reach out for a helping hand as they briefly gain foresight. They see everything that will come, including Helob's kidnapping of another innocent forest dweller and a rest beneath the starry sky.

As you read the comic you may encounter some choices which could change the direction of the story. The trailer shows a good example: choosing which path the pilgrim's animal will take--one with moons and stars, or one with bloody totems and strange hooks (I already know which one I would choose). This is similar to the way most runs take place in Cult Of The Lamb (minus the fighting), where you spend a great deal of time deciding which path to take to fight one of your bishops.

This isn't the only Cult of Lamb comic. Cult of the Lamb, The First Verse was funded on Kickstarter in March in just six minutes. The campaign featured a lot of cool bonuses and special donors rewards, including the addition of sex as a campaign reward.
