Platformer lovers who are also fans of the license are likely to get a kick out of Curious George for the short time that it lasts, and I don't think anyone can discount the game's beautiful presentation, but in the end I think going with a weekend rental is about all that most gamers will get out of this.

For a game based on a movie (based on a set of children's stories), Curious George is more than adequate. While it stumbles here and there in terms of gameplay, the game will nonetheless appeal to those younger players with an itch to play as an animated monkey.

Curious George may be squarely aimed at a younger audience, but even they will likely tire of its overly repetitive minigames and extremely simplistic platforming.

The gameplay can be hard and imbalanced, and while the design seems fitting for its demographic, strange gameplay issues (such as a flawed double jump) will make the experience very frustrating for young gamers.

I will never fault a game for not being violent but that doesn't mean it should be void of fun. Even Curios George himself wouldn't find much interest in this game should ever come across it - and as we all know, he's exceptionally curious.

When you win Curious George, the game just ends. No celebration. No fanfare. It's as if the creators are acknowledging that nothing much has been accomplished.

This isn't a terribly complicated or in-depth game, and adults are likely to find it a little short and a little simplistic. But it captures some of the innocent fun of the books and is almost certainly in the style of the movie, incorporating some clips from the film.

Curious George has none of the double-layered humour of other animated films. Likewise, the game only works if you're under six.

For a game featuring a carefree monkey, this is linear and boring.

If it featured a character aimed at kids a few years older it would probably score higher, but a game that so woefully misunderstands its audience should only be purchased by those with precocious offspring or vast reserves of patience.

Gamestyle can see the appeal that Curious George may have for very young gamers who are fans of the film or television series, but anyone else (or children who have grown up with gaming) will become bored very quickly.
