An interesting game with a heavy dose of adventure and a moderate amount of action. The action isn't paced at breakneck speed, but it is a lot of fun.

Game Chronicles April 29, 2024
The combat was overly simplistic, the gameplay was rather linear, and the overall game could be considered short, but that doesn’t take away from the chills and thrills that await anyone who decides to play.

Simply just an average survival-horror type game. The puzzles are rather simple, the items are easy to find, and the game is laid out in a very easy fashion. The only thing that other survival-horror titles should take into consideration is the control system Curse uses.

A little more emphasis on the combat system, like making good use of the bodypart-specific targeting, would have gone a long way towards truly enjoyable gameplay.

Despite the company's lack of experience with this sort of game-making, and a few noteworthy miscues, the designers have traced the footsteps of Resident Evil as carefully as a chiropodist. This leaves the end result without even the tiniest smidgen of originality, though it is a convincing memorial to a classic genre.

All around, Curse just bored me. The menus are clunky, the mape is useless, and combat is too easy.

Technical things like weak AI that lets you take down enemies around corners without them reacting, and below-average animation that makes what should be a terrifying boss battle laughable.

Quaint.

You might have some fun with Curse over the course of an afternoon, since the simple gameplay won't keep you busy for more than seven hours or so, but after that, it's a paperweight.

Not a terrible game. You’ll definitely find better in the survival horror genre if you’re looking for a good scare, and it doesn’t excel at any particular department, but when you consider other budget-priced titles, it’s not a bad buy.

Horrible, horrible, horrible, did I mention that this game is horrible in regards to the control scheme. What were they thinking making the fixed camera and the controls literally fight one another.

The Curse comes in the form of a yellow mist. A yellow mist with some social problems, it likes to posses the dead, hence the zombies and also inanimate objects. So it's slightly different to Resi Evil and the zombies run fast, like in 28 Days Later. Ooooo. Sounds fascinating. It isn't.

The lack of refinement and execution hold the game back from being frightening and that's not a good thing.

If you're looking for a survival horror adventure to tide you over, this can fit the bill. Just don't expect it to look great or do anything new or spectacular.

So the story is pretty run-of-the-mill. The same can be said for just about all of this game.

Xbox Nation Magazine April 29, 2024
Isis strives to be "Resident Evil," but instead ends up as its less-palatable ward, "Resident Unpleasant."

Had a lot of potential – graphics are great and the sound is just as good; however, the terrible controls and camera ruin any real fun that could be experienced.

The humdrum gameplay won't convert anyone. Clumsy combat with fists or firearms makes up the majority, and the rest of the game is usually a glorified switch and key hunt... and not a particularly complicated one, either.

A poor game for no matter what it is priced at. I can’t recommend a purchase or rental, even if you are a huge survival horror junkie. Curse is well, just that.
