Deadliest Warrior: Legends Critic Reviews

When you're not wrestling with its cumbersome online machinations, Deadliest Warrior: Legends is an absolute treat. It possesses a number of potent improvements over last year's model, resulting in a fighter that's cerebral, satisfying and deep -- and, in the moments when it is not those things, absolutely hilarious.

It's impressive that so much has been packed into such a cheap downloadable game, but I would have liked more attention to the core gameplay, and less attention paid to the glamour of gore.

A solid, if slightly unneeded, follow-up.

Deadliest Warrior: Legends doesn't do anything to reinvent the fighting game genre, but it certainly does give it an interesting twist.

Just remember, this is just a straight up simple fighting game…it does not pretend to be anything else. That is why it's so cool in its simplicity. A casual beat-um up that can be played single player or local with a friend or online.

Deadliest Warrior's violent contests are mainly good only for amusement, as the shallow play mechanics and repetitive battles offer more laughs than longevity.

A silly premise with some very clever ideas, but unfortunately none of them are implemented well enough to help this one-on-one fighter make history.

Deadliest Warrior: Legends may make you laugh for a little while, but its sloppy fighting is dead on arrival.

An unpolished mess with few redeeming qualities other than a nifty premise.
