A solid deck-building roguelike game that doesn't redefine the genre but still offers lots of hours of quality gameplay.

It’s a breath of fresh air for veterans of CCG, but newcomers to the genre probably won’t enjoy it as much due to Deck of Ashes unforgiving nature and abundance of unusual mechanics.

Deck of Ashes lets down its art with grinding gameplay balance and terrible font choices.

Although there were portions of the mechanics and cardplay that I enjoyed, I can’t get past the shortcomings of the story and lack of strategy needed in the late game. Even if those story beats did not turn me off from this game, I would still recommend anybody looking to get into this style of card game to get Slay the Spire instead.
