Summary

Deemo is a mystic character lives in solitude, a castle, all by itself. A little girl falls from the sky, not knowing who she is, where she comes from. To help the little girl back to her world, Deemo comes to realize a tree keeps growing tall on top of the piano whenever it plays. What would Deemo do when it gets comfortable with the companionship it never had before? What if the little girl couldn't deal with the truth when her seemingly lost memories regained?

I’m a huge fan of rhythm games, so any title that can manage to get the gameplay right is worth a playthrough in my book. However, Deemo is so much more than that. The game’s art style and subtle story meld together beautifully to create an overall presentation that simply works. When you combine this with the superb song selection there’s very little to not love.

Often simplistic but rarely simple, this rhythm-action game nails what it sets out to do with enormous style and panache.

Though the genre may be out of fashion at the moment, Deemo's gorgeous soundtrack and haunting visuals reminds us why we fell in love with rhythm-music games in the first place.
