That kind of consistent progression and steady experiential learning is the crux of the game and it’s here in spades. While not quite as good as the truly exceptional TD games I’ve found online in years past, but Defense Technica definitely worth its budget price.

Tower defense games are a dime a dozen, but Defense Technica stands slightly above its peers with its modern presentation and some challenging new twists.

Defense Technica is not a bad game. In fact, it’s fairly well made and entirely playable. However, there just wasn’t enough here to hold my interest for too long as knowing there are simply too many exceptional tower defense games available on PC that I could play instead.

There is nothing wrong about the game, though, and if you like tower defense games then Defense Technica might provide a suitable distraction for a couple of days. The experience isn’t bad, but it is one you will forget almost as soon as you finish playing it.

Defence Technica in its current state is by no means perfect, so it’s very encouraging to see the developers actively listening to feedback from their audience. Working with players has enabled them to patch the game on the fly, rebalancing to make it more appealing to a casual audience, but also ensuring hardcore fans are still tested.

If you like your futuristic tower defense with a little “extra hard”, go for it. With Defense Technica you won’t see anything new, but you will definitely get a challenge.

Defense Technica is just your average tower defense game. It’s an amusing game, with easy to master controls. The towers could be more diverse and the A.I. isn’t that good.

A mediocre Korean clone of Defense Grid: The Awakening with a few original bells and whistles.

Defense Technica is a simple and effective Tower Defense game, without any visual and technical ambitions. It could have been more beautiful and innovative in its genre.

Defence Technica is a very difficult old school game able to entertain tower defence lovers. It was presented as the `next big thing` in his genre, but at the end of the day, it doesn't invent anything.

If you’re looking for a title which really does something new or exciting with the genre — or if you just plain want a new tower defense game that looks and feels flashy and exciting — hold off on this one until the inevitable Steam deals chop the price by a third or greater.

Defense Technica is a fully serviceable tower defense game, but I don’t buy the claim of being the ‘next evolution’ in the genre by any means. It is fun in short bursts, but unless you like a grueling difficulty, it’s a game that is tough to hold your interest for more than a short period once you hit that wall.

Enjoyable? Certainly. Inventive? Never. Defense Technica is a game so humdrum and so by the numbers that it is a struggle to say anything much about. The game exists within its own genre, and that seemingly says enough. Serviceable to a fault, but where the developer's expected to find their own niche, nobody will ever know.

It doesn’t look or sound particularly good, there are loads of issues, and there’s barely anything original about it. But when all is said and done, this is still a Tower Defense game.

Defense Technica is a bland, run-of-the-mill affair. It brings almost nothing new to the genre and relies on tried and tested mechanics.
