Summary

The action of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided takes place in 2029, a couple of years after the events of Human Revolution and the infamous ‘Aug Incident’ in Panchaea that resulted in the deaths of millions at the hands of those who had installed augmentations. This event has caused a massive divide between those who have augmentations and those who don't. Amidst this emotional turmoil are various factions aiming to manipulate the public by twisting public opinion of augmentation to advance their own agenda and hide the truth of what really occurred.

Mankind Divided isn't quite the Deus Ex game of our dreams, but it's a strong step in that direction. There's a high emphasis on choice and experimentation, killer side quests, and dense, detailed levels that are a joy to explore. With momentum pushing towards the next chapter in the story, here's to hoping it won't be another five years before we see Adam Jensen again.

Mankind Divided continues the legacy of its predecessors with a high quality experience on all fronts. It may have an underwhelming ending but nevertheless it provides engaging gameplay with either a stealthy or all-guns blazing approach, it provides a beautiful and detailed Prague and it manages to maturely project the prevalent racists issues of our society to its dystopian world.

The continuing of Adam Jensen's saga delivers on visuals and style, yet again it misses a key ingredient that's expected from a high-profile RPG and that's narrative. It is a game with a complex and serious premise that does offer an amazing journey but drops the ball in the story department.
