Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna Critic Reviews

This is a fantastic title, and should score points both for Diablo-style dungeon crawlers as well as adventure/RPG hybrid lovers. With no load time between levels, it’s also good for those with shorter attention spans.

Technically, this can be considered a stand alone product but we’d like to think of it as two games in one - and for a retail price of $29.90, Dungeon Siege : Legends of Aranna is an exceptional value!

Almost a full-fledged sequel in its own right. Not only do you get the full original game, but you also get a new campaign with a more than respectable amount of game time, new spells, treasures, monsters, and improved interface options.

Considering you get all this for thirty bucks, I see no reason why every action RPG or DS fan shouldn't go out and grab this one right now. If you're into addictive games, I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed with LoA.

The storyline is really showing its age and aside from new some new features to make the game a bit more convenient (as in more storage space), this is a case of second verse same as the first.

Aimed at the first-time player – for everyone else, go download a mod.

Legends of Aranna’s best selling point might be how much of a bargain it is, at least if you never bought the original game. Since it’s priced as an expansion at $30 but actually has two full games, it's one of the best PC deals this year.

With a huge core game and a substantial expansion pack all bundled together for about $30 you won't find a greater RPG bang for your buck.

The AI that aids you in controlling your party is excellent. Unfortunately, it's so excellent that you just have to point and click where you want them to go and they'll battle their way through...If you own Dungeon Siege already: 68.

Fans of action role-playing games like "Nox," "Dark Stone," "KnightShift," or even the popular "Diablo II" (some of my all time favorite action games) should give this expansion a closer look.

The story's not really any more involving, and the game still lacks the personality of Blizzard's seemingly insurmountable Diablo 2, but there's no denying its slick looks, interface and the hours of absorbing gameplay on offer.

Thin and familiar, but it offers some terrific hacking and slashing.

It's a welcome and entertaining addition to an excellent game.

Fans or previous owners of the game may want to hedge their purchase based on how desirous they are of limited exploration, repetitive gameplay mechanics and mild additions that could’ve been presented with a basic patch against the story of the Shadow Jumper.

Legends of Aranna delivers. With about fifteen hours of gameplay, lots of new items to collect, and a horde of monsters and boxes to destroy, this expansion offers plenty for gamers who love to increase stats and find fancy weapons and armor.

Multiplayer has been greatly improved, with characters' journal state now being saved, so playing through one of the campaigns with a friend or two is a much more satisfying.

I don’t think the storyline can get much more generic than this, and I honestly don’t think it’s told and directed very well.

It's a maddeningly beautiful game filled with the tedium of being an observer more than a player.

Plainly average and tends to bring the faults of the parent game to the forefront without being able to hide them under slick layers of production and ambiance.
