Take time to learn its ways, grasshopper, and this will become the most technical and rewarding MMA game you've ever faced.

EA Canada successfully create a realistic fighter with UFC that is definitely nextgen gaming!

It’s hard to not like what EA has created so far in this new UFC franchise. While we may not see this title updated yearly like NHL and Madden, EA has assured gamers that updates and roster updates will come free of charge over time, so it should not become outdated or stale before the next big PPV event.

Yes it is hard as nails, and yes it has some weird moments when it comes to animations, but anyone who invests a few hours into EA Sports UFC will find a deeply gratifying and fair sports experience. A must have for any MMA fan, not so much for anyone who looks for an easy win. EA Sports UFC demands dedication but that isn't a bad thing.

Game Revolution June 17, 2014
As polished as the graphics and presentation may be, the lack of options is apparent especially when compared to its MMA predecessor, UFC Undisputed 3. Perhaps that's not a fair comparison, but that's reality.

It’s clear that EA’s UFC team bleeds martial arts. Everything about its new title – from the integration of UFC-branded videos to a roster including everyone from Jon “Bones” Jones to Ronda Rousey – has been painstakingly shaped into one of the most realistic depictions of the sport to date. The attention to detail makes the experience feel authentic, though not highly approachable.

The comparison with Undisputed is cruel, but EA Sports UFC is still surprising. EA has shown itself to be able to create a great game, thanks to high-quality gameplay, a great graphics engine, and a brilliant online sector. If this is only the first entry in EA's take on the UFC franchise, we can expect great things from the next iterations.

It is far from a perfect game but the fighting, particularly striking, is the best it has ever been.

EA Sports UFC is one for the MMA diehards, and while its learning curve feels like an endurance test at times, the game rewards perseverance with some very satisfying fights.

Even if it's not so spectacular, the gameplay system and the excellent learning curve of EA Sports UFC makes it a very good first try for Electronic Arts.

EA Sports UFC is absolutely amazing to see in motion. It is a lot of fun to play, too, assuming you have some friends along for the ride.

EA have got their hands on UFC, and for their first release have promised to deliver a complete revamped engine; from the physics to damage modifiers, the fatigue system to the artificial intelligence. This game packs a serious wallop in terms of its features!

Much like EA MMA before it, this feels like a solid foundation for a better game to be built upon down the line.

There's hope that, in good time, EA Sports can nail once and for all what UFC is all about. This is an encouraging first try, still lacking some precision and strategy in ground fights, but bestowed with jaw breaking graphics.

UFC fails to impress on the mat.

Powerful visuals and incoherent controls. Good striking and poor grappling. Consistent online matches and dull offline career. EA Sports UFC is a mixed bag of the best and the worst of MMA with tons of unexpressed potential that's ready to be unleashed.

A winner, but by split decision. Some of the omissions like cut and leg stoppages, and the odd bug here and there, make for a debut that is certainly better than EA Sports MMA. Here’s the hitch though – somehow despite itself the game is ridiculously fun.

An often exhilarating and tense fighting game that's let down by flawed grappling mechanics.

While less emphasis on DLC, a practice mode, and a better explanation of the submission game would have been helpful, EA Sports UFC gets a no-contest from this reviewer.

Fans of the UFC will probably enjoy this game a lot, even though those who are new to the series will find it quite confusing. Tutorials are not as good as the should, and it lacks a training mode where practice our moves. Still, a good starting point for EA Sports.
