Shirley Curry, Skyrim Grandma, retires from gaming videos. She says she's just doing it to have fun.

Skyrim Grandma Shirley Curry has retired from making gaming videos after nine years of exploring northern Tamriel. She has over one million subscribers to her YouTube channel.

The 88-year old announced her retirement with a 13-minute video entitled "No More Gaming Videos." She explained that she wasn't completely happy with her decision, but that it was for the best. Curry said, "I'm tired and old and don't want to do much anymore." It seems that the classic burnout of content creation has hit our Skyrim grandma hard, along with her age.

She said, "It seems that I spend the majority of my time here at this computer. And lately, probably for the last one month, I walk in here and look at my computer, thinking 'I have to make a movie today'." "And then, I just shake my heads at myself, saying 'I don’t want to, I don’t have any desire to', and I walk out."

She continued, "I do it for fun and it's not fun anymore." I'm sick of it and bored to death. I'm finally making a decision. I will not be making any game videos." Curry points out that over the years she has amassed a library of gameplay videos. She encourages her upset fans to go and rewatch them if they want a dose of Skyrim Grandma Gaming anytime soon.

Curry won't be our last sighting. Curry may be done with gaming, but she will "continue making vlogs occasionally" and check in to share books that she has been reading or possibly even chapters of a book she is thinking of writing.

Skyrim Grandma will be using her newly found free time to work on some projects that have been put on the backburner. She said, "I will start making a blanket I've wanted to make for a long time." "I designed the quilt squares many years ago, so this is a quilt that I designed." Bethesda could fulfill her request to "hurry up" The Elder Scrolls 6 as she said in 2022: I want to play before my death."
