EverQuest: Lost Dungeons of Norrath Critic Reviews

LDON revitalized Everquest. It has greatly increased ease of finding pickup groups, provides an alternative to areas overcamped in prime time and is just plain FUN.

Although it's still not the greatest-looking game out there at this point, the textures and moster animations have improved tenfold with this expansion.

It's stinkin' great, everything about it kicks ass... If you play EverQuest at least once a week, this $28 download is a must-have.

Just the shot in the arm that EverQuest needed at this juncture. A graphical update would be nice, but the new mission based gameplay and the augmentation system, have really brought my opinion of EverQuest and SOE to a new, higher level.

Every zone in this expansion is being used, as opposed to "Luclin," where you had three useful zones (Ssra Temple, Paludal Caverns, Vex Thal) and the rest are empty...It benefits high level and low level players alike.

The dungeons are great and popular, but there are some lag issues here that need to be corrected.

Perhaps the most significant expansion to "EverQuest," not only in terms of content, but also in how it has so thoroughly changed the game experience.

The expansion's adventures are fun, the settings are interesting to explore and the new monsters are enjoyable to fight. Any serious EverQuest player absolutely must look into the Lost Dungeons of Norrath expansion. The hours of dungeon crawling are worth the price of admission.

Though Lost Dungeons is clearly suited for dedicated EverQuest players, it offers little or nothing to bring new players into the fold or to lure back those who might have given up on EverQuest some time ago.

Players with mid-level rankings will fare the best in this game, though there are some features which are bound to appeal to the hardcore player that will do anything not to return to the real world.

Revives some of the excitement Everquest used to have, and the personal dungeons address some of the most pressing annoyances of current online RPGs. On the other hand, the Lost Dungeons are another step towards nerfing the game to death.

Long-time players will appreciate the changes, such as mission instancing, more-so than anyone who is new to the series.
