While I wouldn’t list Fallen Angel as my game of the year, it’s definitely entertaining while it lasts. It’s hard to enough to be satisfying, has a fantastic variety of areas, and the combat is fast and snappy. There’s a few flaws here and there, namely in a few minor bugs and the combat stagnating partway through, but it’s definitely worth the asking price.

Ultimately, Fallen Angel has very little to offer players that isn't done better in other games. The core gameplay mechanics are serviceable but do nothing to make them worthwhile, and the story frustratingly squanders its powerful source material. The best mythological games, like the God of War series, exude an infectious reverence for their inspirations that makes the audience want to know more, even if they're putting their own spin on an iconic tale. Fallen Angel, in contrast, is not interested in its mythology and seems like the byproduct of a story whose mythological references were window dressing. Fans looking for a strong story or engaging gameplay will need to look elsewhere, and Fallen Angel will only appeal to those who are desperate for another entry into the genre, regardless of quality.
