The huge array of skills and the depth of character development stay true to Fallout's predecessors while the play is a devious mix of precision and inspired tactics with a healthy dose of an army motto, "Check, check and check again!"

The game has plenty of swearing, and lots of gore. I like running around nearly dead--you leave a big trail of red wherever you go. Ok, so maybe it is over the top, but at least somebody still has some cajones out there.

A tour-de-force for fans of both the genre and series, especially if you're able to handle the gigantic scope of the missions.

The best game of its kind available today. Anything coming after it has a lot to live up to.

For serious gamers who want a long squad-based game -- it's challenging, it has hours of gameplay, the Fallout universe is faithfully recreated and the production values are top-notch. It's not a game for everyone, though; the difficulty and squad-based strategy will turn some gamers off.

Capturing the offbeat Fallout flavor, humor, and sense of violence perfectly, Tactics should prove to be a worthy sidestep for the series.

What I did not expect from this game, besides its well-developed RPG foundation, is the sheer size of it. Fallout Tactics covers 3 CDs, contains 20 missions, and for the average game will take over 60 hours to complete. That is amazingly long, especially for a strategy game.

Fallout: Tactics isn't just one of the better squad-combat games out there. It's also a decent action game, and has strong roleplaying aspects.

The only problem is that there's too much of it. After a certain point, enough is enough. But while your attention holds out, this game is incredibly fun and challenging.

It'll provide dozens of hours of entertainment to both fans of squad-based combat games and fans of the series and stands a good chance of turning one into the other.

It will push you to be a better gamer, but once complete it has little replay value.

It adds new depth and action to the Fallout universe, while staying true to the rich history already built for the world.

An excellent game, true to Fallout tradition in all respects. Unfortunately, one of those respects is a cavalcade of bugs and a product rushed to the market.
