It looks gorgeous on the Switch, both in handheld and when docked, and all of the gorgeous artwork stuns with every scene. It is the music, however, that stands out amongst everything else. Each boss has a song to accompany it, and every song in the game is catchy, with great lyrics that compliment the writing of the entirety of Figment. I adore this game, and with the ability to take it on your travels I’d highly recommend you play this now.

Figment is a beautifully made puzzle-adventure action game that sits among the finest indie games on Switch. The gorgeous storybook art style, sweeping soundtrack, enjoyable puzzles, and the thought-provoking storyline is what makes Figment a must-play experience. The pacing, humour, and creativity are all top notch, and it sets everything up for a hard-hitting and memorable finale.

While the puzzles aren't a huge draw, the look and presentation of the game are so unique and interesting that the game's still really easy for me to recommend. It's poetic, and while maybe not incredibly deep, does excellent work with bringing the nightmares to life and infusing their songs with the fear and dread they represent. Fear is the mind killer – and your quest to vanquish those fears is one you'll enjoy going on.

It’s clear that a lot shown in Figment is not what the focus of the experience, it’s the puzzles, which don’t always stick the landing. A handful of exceptions crop up, but not nearly as many as I would have liked. Check out Figment if you’re interested in taking on a puzzle adventure indie, with some cute visual touches, and can handle a little puzzle fatigue.

Figment means action. Wonderful arts and an unconventional story are the things that Figment brings us. This game also moves us to the world of mental states where we will fight against nightmares and fears found there.

Even with its simplicity, Figment is a good game that becomes an excellent recommendation to children or young adults. With its beautiful visuals and fairy-tale like storytelling, it is a great combination that makes its public smile.

In the long run, I imagine it’ll be those nightmarish enemies I remember about Figment, not the so-so puzzles and combat. As a game, I could basically take Figment or leave it. But as an experience — as a surreal musical that explores some pretty dark places — Figment is definitely different than almost anything else out there.

Figment is an attractive, creative puzzler that explores the human mind’s inner demons very nicely indeed. The gameplay is good, if never revolutionary, with just a handful of downers being present in an otherwise solid experience. The game’s most creative moments – such as its boss battles – and the way in which it deals with its heavy subject matter are the real winners here, though, and should go a long way towards encouraging a purchase for those who are most interested.

Your quest to help Dusty bring peace to the mind again is memorable, even if the adventure is an uneven one. It’s a journey that’s ridden with cringeworthy puns, but made all the more worthwhile thanks to the way that Dusty and Piper bounce off one another and take comfort in the silliness of it all. The lesson that Figment imparts, though, is that if you can summon up enough courage you can fight through your fears rather than let them cripple you forever. The bad jokes thrown in letting you shake off some nerves along the way.

What players will find with Figment is a game that paces itself well to create a world that tackles the inner demons of its protagonist in a way that is simultaneously light hearted and without trivialising the seriousness of the themes. If for no other reason, you should look at this one for its art direction alone. It really is gorgeous.

Figment is an adventure game that proposes something unusual but not any less topical and relevant: how to deal with depression. With that in mind, the game presents a series of very attractive-looking hand-drawn sets that come to life during the game and a dynamic soundtrack that follows the players during the puzzle-solving duties. While the game's combats feel too simple and the puzzles are somewhat repetitive, this is without a doubt a very good approach to a complex theme and which will appeal to fans of adventure and puzzle games alike.

Figment’s mechanics are woefully underdeveloped, but the rest of the game is so cohesive and often brilliant that it’s difficult to dismiss out of hand. The ambient soundtrack, and especially the boss songs go a long way and are worth playing through the slight, five hour game to hear if that interests you at all. If not, the gameplay can be downright boring at times.
