Final Fantasy 7 retranslation promises English-speaking gamers an experience "as close as is possible to that of Japanese speakers'

I never finished Final Fantasy 7 I know that there are many people who can overlook the stilted, overly formal oddity of its English version, but I am not one of them. Shinra Archaeology Team is one of many people who believe that FF7 deserves a better translation. This group of modders created the Shinra Archaeology Cut, a retranslation of Final Fantasy 7 that has just reached version 1.0.

This version of FF7 fixes mistakes in the original English language translation, improves tonal accurate using idiomatic languages, and conforms to localization choices made for the Compilation & Remake trilogy to ensure continuity throughout the Final Fantasy VII Series. This means that if you then move on to the fantastic Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you won't be too shocked.

The Shinra Archaeology Team says that the goal of this retranslation was to give English-speaking players a narrative and lore experience that is as similar as possible to Japanese-speaking players.

"But wait! There's more!" might be the response of someone trying to sell a set Buster Swords via Home Shopping Network. This mod has an optional cut content component that "restores many events, maps and animations that were cut from final release."

You can also choose from different versions of FMV cutscenes. These include pixel art portraits found in the demo, but not in the final game. A red outfit for Yuffie is based on the original design. And pre-rendered background images seen in the Japanese but not in the international version. This is essentially the Bloodlines Unofficial patch Plus of Final Fantasy 7 translation mods.

Installing the Shinra Archaeology Cut requires the 7th Heaven Mod Manager. It is compatible with all versions of FF7 PC and even runs on Steam Deck. However, you will need to install 7th Deck modmanager instead. Enjoy your moseying.
