Final Fantasy 16 will finally be available on PC in September. A demo is now available.

The PC version of Final Fantasy 16 is finally coming out after nearly a year. It won't be launching at Gamescom as some had hoped, but it will be available on September 17, and a demo can already downloaded.

Final Fantasy 16 for PC is available in two versions: the standard release, and the "complete edition", which includes the DLCs Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide. Pre-purchasing usually comes with some additional goodies: the Cait Sith’s Charm accessory, Sixteen Bells Orchestrion roll, and Brave Blade weapon.

The demo is available now and includes the "opening section" of Final Fantasy 16 and an "Eikonic Challenge", a mode created specifically for the demo to demonstrate the game's combat and mechanics through a dungeon mission and boss fight. The demo save data (except for the Eikonic Challenge which is a separate thing) will be carried over to the full version. So, if you do not want to play the demo again when the full version comes out, you won't need to.

Square Enix has been announcing a PC version for Final Fantasy 16 since last year. While we haven't heard anything since then, the company did announce earlier this year its intention to "aggressively implement a multiplatform approach that includes Nintendo platforms as well as PlayStation, Xbox and PCs," indicating that it is moving away from its tradition of prioritizing Sony platforms. This should mean that we won't have to wait as long for Sony exclusive games.

Final Fantasy 16 PC is now available to pre-order on Steam and Epic Games Store. The store pages contain links to the demo.
