FTG may be a bit rough to get into at first, but with a little dedication and the right type of niche desires this may be a little slice of heaven for you. If you aren't interested in the subject matter I'd suggest finding another tactical strategy game to enjoy.

An original experiment that matches turn based strategy with football, with a deep managerial side and a great players editor. Still, the gameplay shows some flaws, and sometimes the experience can be frustrating.

This is a pretty good choice if you’re looking for a lighter take on strategy. It can be quite fun and exciting, so try the demo and judge for yourself.

Virtual Tipp-Kick using mouse clicks, an insider tip for soccer fans, ideal and entertaining for quick games.

Football, Tactics & Glory is hardly addictive, but accessible and deep enough to fill a World Cup-shaped hole in your heart. If would be perfect on the go, but, unfortunately, there is only a PC version of the game.

Football, Management and Tactics combines the best and worst parts of football management and strategy games, and that’s probably about it.

A beautifully engineered tactics title free of gimmicks and artificial grind, Football, Tactics & Glory abbreviates without over-simplifying, and absorbs without overwhelming. If, like me, you crave the drama and flavour of club football, but don’t have the patience to grapple with full-blown management simulations like Football Manager, or the manual dexterity or even-temper necessary to play games like FIFA, anticipate obsession.

Football, Tactics and Glory is an old-fashioned strategy game that’s pulled me in, demanding that I keep playing and slogging towards in my quest to build a better team. It makes great use of turn-based battle grids to create a convincing simulation of soccer strategies.
