Fret Nice contains one thoroughly enjoyable musical world. Rock on.

Fret Nice's downfall is that it forces the player to repeat the same few levels far too many times. The game does have some fresh ideas and its art style is very charming, but the cons nevertheless outweigh the pros. Also, the guitar controls are horrible.

A great soundtrack and unique art style can't save what is ultimately a failed experiment.

It's all quite charming, but not enough to elevate it to an above-average adventure.

Without doubt, Fret Nice has some good ideas, some cool presentation and is a unique concept, though it tries to force too many things that make the player less (rather than more) comfortable.

I find it hard to recommend this game on sound and art alone, for those are the only areas where the game succeeds

Fret Nice is a quirky game with a lot of style. Unfortunately, quirky is not enough.

Your guitar will gently weep for this frustrating platformer.

The Way I See It: Horrible controls, busted gameplay and a frustrating experience.

If you're tired of music games this peculiar platformer is no reason to keep your plastic axe either.

Make a game with controls that don't work, and lovable presentation and playful creativity can't save it. It always hurts to punish a game that tries something different, especially when such obvious care has gone into its presentation, but Fret Nice fails to execute its ideas with competence.

Nothing more than an interesting curio.

While the more conventional controls make for a more satisfying experience, they also expose the painful ordinariness of the game.
