Like most movies of the thriller genre when you go and replay the game you will likely find things you missed and understand things a lot more but even if you play it only once it does a good job of explaining everything and has a very satisfying ending (regardless of which one you end up getting).

Get Even tries to do too much, but rather than getting it wrong, it succeeds on many different levels. It blends styles within the first-person genre seamlessly, tells an ambitious story without tripping over itself, manages to scare you, and connect with you emotionally. The shooting is satisfying and exhilarating thanks to some smart enemy AI, and the Cornergun is a great weapon to use. I enjoyed Get Even a great deal; it takes you to a place you weren’t prepared for, and whether you’re happy about that or not, there’s no denying that this is a unique and fantastic video game you should all play.

It's a bit simple on the gameplay side of things, but Get Even still delivers an engaging story in an expert way, with often brilliant voice-acting and beautiful graphics. Don't let this one fly under your radar!

Get Even is going to be a surprise hit title in my opinion. It just has that certain something to it. I do think it will be one of those sleeper hits that many will miss, but hopefully fans of the genre get behind it and spread the word. It certainly deserves it. A lot of thought has been put into the game to make it something memorable.

Playing Get Even is like ongoing brain surgery to change the zones related to memory. And even with some rough edges (the graphics), the sound treatment and the script make the operation a triumphant success: an unforgettable experience.

The developers have created a very interesting world, and the brilliant atmosphere coupled with varied gameplay makes for a very worthwhile experience. Sure, some of the mechanics of Get Even could have been a little more polished or refined, and perhaps some players will be turned off by the intense surrealism employed by the game, but if you can look past that and stay for the ride, it's definitely worth it.

Get Even refuses to be pigeon-holed at any point, and though some people won't be able keep up with the madness, for those that can it's an entirely unique experience. Bandai Namco may just have the most interesting game of 2017 here, and a potential huge cult hit.

Get Even is one of the biggest surprises of the year. Very original, and with an outstanding story that keeps its hooks in the player during the entire game.

It will keep you glued to the chair for at least a dozen hours.

Get Even is an interesting hybrid - you'll find pieces of a walking simulator, a stealth game, a shooter, a puzzle adventure and a really well written thriller. Not only the story is pretty exceptional - so are the audio and music. The overall quality is good enough to prevent mediocre graphics and some level cloning from having fun. Good job.

Get Even’s solid story, great narration and mysterious atmosphere help it overcome its its few shortcomings in the graphical and gameplay departments. All in all, Get Even is a very satisfying and enjoyable experience that will keep your mind engaged on the fates of Mr. Black and Mr. Red.

The end result is a highly satisfying game with an engrossing story that delivers in creepy, emotional and thought-provoking moments that helps it stand out, especially with its more subtle presentation of morality in gaming.

It has a lot of genres in its melting gameplay pot that work for the most part, though fall short in flavor in other sections of the game. The fact that a developer took a big enough chance to try something that isn’t too common these days with big titles, that says a lot for their dedication to the game. Give it a look.

Get Even uses the FPS formula to deliver a touching and deep story. Despite some technical failings, the narrative and the sound make the trip worth taking.

Get Even is a flawed product, that suffers immensely from sub-par shooting and stealth sessions and some technical problems on console. Still, its interesting and complex storyline and amazing sound design make it a worthwhile - albeit short - experience.

Get Even delivers a action-packed story that is told through stealth gameplay and lots of dialogues. With a soundtrack that tries and succeeds to do something different, and enough variety in gameplay, Get Even mostly succeeds in delivering an epic story.

Get Even is so much more than just survival-horror and that makes things very interesting. Sometimes you have to do a lot of searching and backtracking, which can be frustrating, but mostly this is a thrilling catch-you-by-the-throat-kind of psychological video game.

While it has its flaws, there’s a uniqueness to Get Even we rarely see in video games today. Right away, The Farm 51 demonstrates its desire to be different, crossing between genres and actually taking a gamble. While it doesn’t always pay off, we’re still left with something both intriguing, experimental and, at times, thought provoking.

A sometimes beguiling yet, frequently intriguing blend of first-person exploration and shooter genres, Get Even’s uneven execution results in a game that is commendable for its ambition and relentlessly engaging narrative, but one which ultimately fails to come together in practice.
