GYLT from Tequila Works is a heavy game to bear. Its story is overwhelmingly sad, relatable, and impactful. The gameplay is built to complement the story and the devs did a great job of pulling those two pieces together. This game isn’t for the faint of heart and it will certainly get you in the feels, but the journey is worth the emotional risk.

A great example on how video games not only entertain, but also deliver powerful messages. Gylt is not the most groundbreaking experience out there, but it sure is a necessary food for thought.

It's to be applauded how they managed to create a terrifying setting without using elements like gore or disgusting monster designs. Without leaving the PEGI 12, GYLT offers a brilliant immersion.

While its gameplay can feel a little basic at times, we’re really glad that GYLT is now free of Stadia. This is a small but powerful horror title that tackles an important issue while also providing hours of engaging gameplay. And though there’s nothing truly original here, Tequila Works has obviously put this together with care. If nothing else, it deserves praise for simply being a horror game accessible to younger audiences while still being unsettling for all.

Gylt is a worthwhile adventure not only for the story, but also because of the challenges it puts in front of us. It has been developed so that it can be enjoyed by any type of player, whether they are a fan of horror and puzzle games, or new to them. The title was released for the now defunct Stadia back in 2019, but Tequila Works has decided to recreate it so that it can be enjoyed again on other platforms.

PSX Brasil July 3, 2023
The greatest quality of GYLT is not in its gameplay, but in making use of a very relevant theme to show us that, sometimes, our biggest nightmare can be sitting right next to us.

This will be the first chance for many to try this classic survival horror, than even if quite simplistic, delivers a fun and enjoyable adventure for fans of the genre.

With mature themes in a narrative that has evolved alongside the gameplay, Gylt tells an engaging story and may surprise those who judge a book by its cover.

Gylt is an entry level horror video game. From puzzles, to combat, to stealth phases, everything is deliberately simple and easy to understand. Never too scary, nor in any way gory it is a game suitable for newcomers to the genre. For this reason, as well, do not expect particularly brilliant and original ideas and features.

A weak combat system and a few gamplay niggles don't detract from what is an eerie, adventurous tale. Yes the story could have been stronger but the visuals and mostly entertaining gamplay make Gylt an enjoyable game that never outstays its welcome. However, I do feel a few tweaks here and there could have made the game vastly superior.

Gylt hits PC, PlayStation and Xbox after its exclusivity with Stadia to bring its light and enjoyable survival horror proposal to a wider audience. A simple, convincing audiovisual experience that hides a deep social message.

GYLT offers an emotional insight into the impact bullying can have on a child using thought provoking art to convey concepts of loneliness, anger and paranoia. This well crafted story links well with the simple gameplay mechanics, with an artstyle that fits the creepy atmosphere created through the soundtrack. All of this and an environment which urges you to explore in spite of the sparse selection of meaningful items to be found, GYLT is perfect for a horror fan looking for a more mellow game, and would work well as a first-time spooky experience.

Gylt may not push the boundaries as far as its gameplay, but it finds a niche in the horror genre and has some nice moments along the way.

Gylt is a mostly solid albeit flawed experience that manages to keep you engaged until the credits roll.

Tequila Works has definitely offered better experiences in the past, but Gylt is still a decent enough time.

An adventure with basic stealth elements and a teen-horror atmosphere that also winks at more recent genre series. The atmosphere is good but the all too basic gameplay seems to be aimed at a fairly young and unweaned audience. Technically it does not leave great memories but the porting job could have been better.
