Happy Tree Friends: False Alarm Critic Reviews

The flaws hold the game back from being as entertaining as it could have been, yet its over-the-top take on a classic formula is worth more than a few laughs to fans.

Happy Tree Friends is a decent game that will please fans, but will end up boring most gamers. The difficultly never really ramps up from level 1 to level 30 and the levels are so short, you'll be done before dinner's ready.

The initial reaction when Happy Tree Friends was fired up was "rubbish", "stupid" and "why are you playing this?" It looks bland, boring and slow...Yet for the person playing it, it's endearing, addictive and surprisingly fun.

The Happy Tree Friends has quite a faithful fan base, but most people will be left disappointed with the level of difficulty and the shortness of the game.

It's basically four buttons, used in the same way each time. Fun.

Whereas the Flash series is known for its over the top gore and unbelievable injuries caused by and to the cutesy animals, False Alarm will be known for its poor controls and short length.

Happy Tree Friends False Alarm is clunky, unimaginative, and more like a false start than a fun game.

After several stages, it becomes painfully repetitive.

The basic Lemmings meets Itchy & Scratchy idea is sound, but the final product feels half-baked.

The question is, does the game warrant its price of 800 points? The answer would have to be a firm ‘no’ simply because it becomes all too repetitive far too quickly and with no real pull factor other than perhaps replaying each level in order to nail gold (and pick up achievements a-plenty) there’s not much longevity here either.

Guiding the five idiotic animals through each level is real torture.

One big mess.
