My only complaint is that it was so short! I wanted more! I ended up finishing all of the levels provided and the extra levels in about 2 hours, and I was not disappointed by any means, but I did wish there were more levels to play. The replayability is pretty good though because you can’t memorize which hexagons need which number of dots, so it should be good for 3 or 4 playthroughs while you wait for Hexologic 2.

While Hexologic might not be as difficult as they'd have you believe it is still fun and relaxing even in small doses.

Hexologic is a charming number puzzle game that gets some influence from games like Sudoku. It's not very long or challenging, but it offers a casually relaxing sort of difficulty. The sights and sounds are clearly meant to invoke tranquility, which adds to the peaceful atmosphere and gameplay.

For what it is, Hexologic is a pleasant experience. I always feel weird discussing price in reviews, but since this game launched at $2.99 on Switch, expectations of what it should be need to be adjusted accordingly. At $3, Hexologic is a light, worthwhile experience. It’s not going to surprise you with oodles of content, but it’s a great foundation for a much deeper and longer lasting puzzler.

Hexologic is a simplistic, relaxing puzzler that combines its calm music with some pleasing aesthetics and rewarding design. Whilst this does mean that it can be relatively easy to complete, it's cheap and makes a nice companion to watching TV or listening to a podcast after a long day. At such a low price point, it's hard to say no to another mobile game enhanced on the Switch.

After playing so many highly tense puzzlers, Hexologic is a nice change of pace delivering a much more chilled experience that’s as easy to unwind with as it is to pick up. A lack of content might make this a rather short-lived experience but it’s one that feels fair for the low price it asks. The eShop may not exactly be short of puzzlers at the moment but Hexologic’s pleasant vibe and satisfying brainteasers are enough to make this cheaper release worth a look.

Hexologic has a simple job and it does it effectively enough. This puzzle game picks up the concept behind Sudoku and advances it to a more fun and compelling level, helping to build a fun and accessible game while not taking its premise too far. It could be longer, as it feels too short at some moments but it's undeniable that fans of puzzle games will have a very fun time thanks to Hexologic.

When it comes to number-based puzzlers, Hexologic is a must-have game for any fan of the genre. It may be short on content but the clever gameplay and polished presentation make it an enjoyable albeit brief experience.

Hexologic is beautiful in its zen minimalism. The soundtrack is gorgeously relaxing, the beautiful aesthetic makes wonderful use of crisp lines and white space to be the kind of thing I'd happily point design students to as a way of doing interfaces and modern chic properly. That beauty is backed up with an elegant, efficient, and clever logic foundation, and as a result it's all very classy and the kind of experience you can enjoy with a glass of good red wine. It's just disappointing that Hexologic didn't prove testing enough on the intellect to be a truly spectacular example of a puzzler.

Whether you’re a Sudoku enthusiast or a new player, Hexologic is a puzzle game that’s easy to pick up and learn. If you’re looking to pick your brains at clever numerical puzzles, this game will keep you busy with its wide selection. It may not be one to try and beat in one go, but it’s definitely worth picking up if you like your Sudoku with a twist.

With a wonderful staging and a soundtrack that even Bowser would relax with, MythicOwl reinvents the sudoku but leaves us wanting more for its short duration and for some mechanics that could have given much more of themselves.
