Genuine art is meant to evoke a response from its audience, and Hohokum's diverse assortment of imaginative endeavors makes it easy to get lost inside its world. It's effective union of art, activity and music, managing a progression of open personal responses without the weight of a direct narrative or dissonant mechanics.

Hohokum is a visually stunning trip into some weird dimension full of flying creatures, relaxing music and good vibes.

In the interests of variety, evolution, and the survival of creative thought, Hohokum is a game that needs to exist and be celebrated by those who can appreciate it.

It’s certainly not going to be a game for everyone but it undoubtedly resonated with me.

Most importantly, you get from Hohokum what you put into it. Players who investigate the nooks and crannies, seeing everything in each world, will be rewarded.

Hohokum is one of those games that could only have been created by a small team, so distinct are the voices within the presentation and design.

In these days, players are surrounded by identical shooter games but Hohokum, offers them an exit way.

This is one of these ideas that are not designed for everyone, but if you are open for innovation it can be fascinating.

Hohokum is one of those games, where you can simply lean back to dive into beautifully designed worlds somewhere between “zen gaming” and a serious puzzler.

Hohokum is a perfect blend of low-impact gameplay, adorable visuals and a great soundtrack. The only downsides are some of the harder puzzles towards the end, but those frustrations are easy to overcome if you give Hohokum the time it deserves.

Hohokum is a conundrum as it doesn't quite feel like a proper game. It's a bright and cheerful Snake clone that focuses on offering as relaxing experience as possible. The lack of a proper goal and complete lack of challenge are a bit hard to swallow.

A game that can successfully and constantly challenge the player with so many vastly varied ideas is pretty impressive. I don’t even want to use the word “puzzle” to describe any part of this game.

Blaming a game this casual and calm for being obtuse is like yelling at the masseuse for doing too good of a job.

Despite the occasional frustration it brings, Hohokum is an absolute treat to behold.

The sheer variety and novelty of what Hohokum offers, as well as the attention paid to making sure that something as basic as the movement feels great (the only game I think does this as well as Hohokum is another Playstation title, Journey), means that Hohokum is going to be something I come back to, on occasion, for a pleasant escape. And it’s one well worth your time.

Hohokum can be considered as a video game or interactive art, depending on the way we see the experience of playing. But developing such an experimental approach surely requires genuine creativity, that is expressed with an elegant and misleading simplicity through this singular journey.

Like any good vacation, you'll return home at the end of it with lasting fond memories. But unlike most vacations, with Hohokum you always have the opportunity to revisit them whenever the mood strikes.

Don’t venture into Hohokum hoping to understand what it’s all about, just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Hohokum is a pleasantly strange break from reality. It’s filled with color, personality and charm, and if you can overlook the lack of game-like structure to find your own way in the game’s psychedelic world, you’ll find a satisfying meditative experience backed by precise controls.
