Undemanding and, at times, tedious gameplay takes some of the shine away from Homestead Arcana, even if there is an otherwise bewitching world with a heartfelt story to tell.

Homestead Arcana is a surface level farm-life sim/adventure game that can be best described as a vegetable that is too misshapen to be sold in the grocery store on its own. Rather bound up with the other ‘rejects’ for a cheaper price.

Homestead Arcana is a game that, although it feels like it lacks work, it is clear that it knows how to bring new things to the genre, so it can be excellent for someone saturated with conventional farm games. For Serenity Forge, if they want to continue down this path, this title can be a very solid foundation for a promising future.
