The game itself is a proficient attempt and honestly not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. While the multi-player is easily the most disappointing aspect of the game fans of the genre that simply cannot get enough World War II action will find enough here to warrant a weekend rental.

While the game tries hard to deliver solid single player storyline and multiplayer gameplay, it just does not cut the mustard when it comes developing a truly engaging and enjoyable experience.

Not that the game does anything bad, it is as unoriginal as you can get in this land of competition.

In summation, all I can say is that, if you really want to get your hands on a WW2 FPS worth playing, get Call of Duty. Anything else will lead to, as the boys in Deep 13 used to say, “Deep hurting! Deep hurting!”

Nothing more than a poor knock-off of Call of Duty. It’s hardly worth your time. Though, if you don’t mind the weak AI and boring level design, you can probably get a few moments of joy from Hour of Victory. Like when you return it to EB for store credit. That sure put a smile on my face.

After all is said and done, this game is a step in the wrong direction and is a disappointment. For the sixty dollar price tag most 360 games retail for, I think there are much better ways to spend your money.

There’s a game somewhere among the bugs and glitches that make up Hour of Victory for the Xbox 360 but you’ll never find it seeing as the entire experience feels broken and rushed.

Technically unsound, with many glitches; some of them major. Playable characters with individualized skill sets is a cool concept. Multiplayer is, well, WWII multiplayer.

A joyless mess that would have looked dated five years ago. In 2007 there's no excuse.

Could have done something really worthwhile with the genre, but... didn't. Nazi stuff.

Hour of Victory feels like a chore to play. The gameplay is anachronistic and doesn't bring anything new to the genre at all. It actually feels like a few steps backwards for both the FPS genre and the WWII shooter.

We know Midway has actually canceled games that didn't come up to their standards. This one should have qualified for such treatment.

With this winter full of high profile shooters it's almost certain that Midway felt a summer release for Hour of Victory was essential, but what's been released is hugely disappointing - especially on a console that has been relatively dross free.

It’s a solid FPS, but its failure to provide a truly original take on an ever-tiring genre or something even vaguely resembling half-decent AI means that it could never be considered anything better than plain average.

Sporting an uninspired story, severe clipping issues and boring gameplay, Hour of Victory is one to avoid, which is disappointing because they started out with such an incredible premise and just failed to make good on it.

From looking at it you'd probably never guess it was an Unreal Engine game. It lacks any real distinguishing features, struggles to run smoothly in places, and, aside from a few nice special effects, never remotely approaches the expected visual impact.

Hour of Victory could have been an average game, even a good game if some time had been taken to make sure everything works.

Avoid this game unless you absolutely thrive on World War II FPS carnage, perhaps rent it just to laugh and giggle at how bad it really is, then realise you could have used that rental money for something else, enjoyable.
