A game many will be surprised to be on this list, but it happens to be one of the best.

A true classic. The Souvalou moves at a somewhat glacial pace and the graphics are hopelessly flat, but besides those shortcomings it's still a phenomenal action game.

This shooter is absolutey brilliant, literally offering a layer of depth rarely seen in this genre.

While it’s fairly typical at first, when you realize that you have to drop bombs at ground targets, the gameplay picks up quickly. While there is no true ending to the game, Xevious is a ton of fun and if you’re looking for a GBA shooter.

Without a doubt, a prized old-school shooter that stacks up against "Gradius" and others with great fortitude. Though simple, the game is some of the most fun $20.00 can net you.

The auto-fire element does kind of suck and takes away a bit of the game's fun and challenge, so if you pick up this game...just don't hold the button down. You'll have a lot more fun with it.

Even today I can play Xevious and still be entertained, and that is something considering the game just hit its twenty-year age mark.

The lack of power-ups and somewhat generic level design makes it pale in comparison to some other fine shooters on the NES ("Life Force" & "Guardian Legend" for example), but this was one of the first shooters on the system and it's still worth playing.

It’s a timeless control scheme that still works well to this day, but there’s not much more to do than play it until you lose all of your lives.

Xevious is certainly a classic game, but it's a classic <I>arcade</I> game, not a classic NES game.

Gameplay offers little variety, but the level of difficulty is high in the late stages.

Unfortunately it sounds like a wristwatch alarm. After an hour or so of playing Xevious, staring at your watch will seem like a refreshing change of pace.
