Indiana Jones and the Great Circle features 4 hours of breathtaking cutscenes. 'This is the longest and biggest game that Machine Games has ever done.'

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released in just two weeks. It's a game that's packed with puzzles and Nazis. Machine Games claims it's the most lengthy game they've ever created.

Amidst a flurry 141 questions, Machine Games' creative director Axel Torvenius was asked by MinnMax how long they made Indy's Next Adventure. Torvenius did not give a specific number of hours, but he said that "by a long shot, this is the longest and biggest game that Machine Games has ever done."

If we go by completion time estimates from HowLongToBeat, which lists Wolfenstein: The New Order's main story completion as taking around 11.5 hours, then we can assume that Indiana Jones & the Great Circle's main story will take upwards of 12 to complete.

Torvenius' estimate of the number of cutscenes in The Great Circle suggests that 12 hours is a bit low. Torvenius says that the game contains "roughly three and a half hours, forty minutes, or 45 minutes" of cutscenes. It's a lot."

In more familiar terms, watching all of the cutscenes from Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes the same amount of time as watching 1.72 Last Crusades. This is almost as much time as watching two Temples of Doom. If you're short on time, I hope that you are a pro at navigating ancient Temples. If you're eager to see Indy, there's no reason to worry that the Great Circle won't meet your needs.

The MinnMax interview contains more information about the Great Circle. The mechanic that allows Indy, if he can crawl to his hat and retrieve it, to avoid death is also detailed. This indicates that the hat acts as a sort-of lich-like phylactery tying Dr. Jones to mortal plane. Profound implications.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is scheduled to launch on December 8, 2020.
