Inzoi's new gameplay reveals 9 things about the game

It's hard to keep up with the latest information on the various in-development life sim games. Inzoi showed off a new video at Gamescom Opening Night Live, but it wasn't very informative. Krafton has partnered with content creators to share sponsored videos of their playtime with a build.

The short version of the story is that Inzoi looks just as beautiful in action as it does on screenshots and videos. People are having fun discovering all of the interactions, relationships, activities, and more, from car accidents to drive by farts. Instead of breaking down the latest gameplay trailer, let's look at nine things that we know about Inzoi (old and new), based on what people are sharing.

Open world and direct Zoi Control Mode

The newest gameplay videos, which we already knew would be open-world, show that your Zoi can drive or walk anywhere on the map (more below). You can choose between a classic life-sim perspective, where you point and click your Zois to the destination you want them to go to, or a direct control mode that uses WASD. I didn't think it would have such an impact. But the closer perspective and more realistic graphics make it feel more personal.

I noticed that you couldn't just walk in to any building anywhere. It's a very open world from the outside, but the interior is a little restricted.

You can drive cars and crash them

Emma Nicole's video shows us what the cars will look like. We knew Inzoi would have driveable vehicles, but this video shows how they will actually work. You can choose to drive in first-person or third-person perspective from the driver's position. Emma is not the only one who gets stuck in traffic. You can use "auto-drive" in this situation to let the car drive itself. Even so, it takes time. You can skip to your destination. In Emma's case, this took 40 minutes in game time.

In the latest trailer, you can see two Zois screaming at each other about a fender-bender. RachelPedd's clip shows how this happens. Inzoi's developers have said that driving cars in Inzoi is not like GTA. However, you can hit other cars. You will then receive a pop-up acknowledging the error and another Zoi will spit you out. There are a lot of car interactions, such as rolling down windows or using turn signal.

You can spread rumors, colds and trends

Inzoi will represent different types of virality among Zois, ranging from gossip to fashion trends to colds. Emma Nicole, though we won't see it in action in Inzoi, describes a rumors system and the ability to contract colds which Inzoi developers have told players about. This is a way for information (or illness) to be passed between Zois.

Another player, MadMorph describes how a Zoi could use the in-game "Bubbly" social media to show off a hat, and then see other Zois wearing the same hat, or even pull that hat out and wear it while passing by that original Influencer Zoi on the streets.

Zois have an "recognition need"

Inzoi seems to be a big fan of social media, and it's no different with the concept of trends. Your Zois has eight total need meters. Seven of them are standard: hunger (or thirst), hygiene, bathroom, social, fun, energy and sleep. There is also a separate "recognition need" from the "social need". Being noticed is not just important for certain jobs; it's also a basic human requirement. This may be a part of the motivation for you to take on "karma actions", as described below.

You have to go to work

The Sims calls jobs "active careers" when your Sim goes to work and has to accomplish goals. However, most careers are not active careers. Inzoi's careers are all "active", in the sense that they send your Zoi into work in uniform, with a list of tasks to complete like cleaning up the shop as a clerk or practicing singing as an icon and a deadline to meet. So far, players have taken on roles like a pop-idol trainee, cashier or firefighter.

There are three types of interaction

In many different videos, you can see that the interactions between Zois appear as a jumbled list of options. Some are very specific, like "Discuss artificial intelligence development" or "talk about a stroll in the park." Some are specific to moods, such as flirtatious choices for when you feel "dazzled," or interactions that are specific to a particular relationship.

The interactions are also divided into three categories: business, friendship, and family relationships. It's fascinating, but I wonder if I will take the interactions that are the easiest to find rather than go digging for the ones I want.

With a generative AI software, you can create your own patterns.

In previous videos, I had spotted a pattern creator for the character creator. You can also use a generative AI to create patterns based on a prompt. MadMorph put this part to the test by asking for custom paintings like "a line drawing of a face of a bear" and "Sonic," which had mixed results. It's also not a great feeling to use generative AI for a game genre where there is a large community of artists and creators. Uploading premade pictures will make it easier to create things that look good. However, people love messing around with AI tools.

Furniture can be imported or custom-built from a photo.

As a build mode user, what really excites me is the ability to create customized furniture by mixing and combining elements such as the legs of an Office Chair with the back of the Wicker Chair. It's not a combination I would recommend, but it is cool that it is possible. I also show my favorite decorating feature: the ability to select materials, patterns, or specific colors for each part of an object.

Emma Nicole also demonstrated the ability to create 3D objects using a photograph with the "3D printer." It takes several moments to process but it looks pretty cool. As Emma Nicole pointed out, the results can vary and sometimes have a slightly odd geometry. I'm actually more likely to use the AI patterns than those.

There's also a karma-system, which includes, um, farting

MadMorph has created another gem. Inzoi uses a karma system, and you can view your Zoi's position in their profile. There are "karma actions", which include sending a prank message, posting a compliment to social media and farting secretly.
