All in all, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven is a unique fighter, but many players might have a hard time getting into everything to enjoy it. It does have a few minor problems that may alienate some players, while serious fans of the series will jump right in and love every second.

An original story taking place after the events of All Star Battle gives all JoJo fans a new experience to enjoy.

It tries to innovate, but it's a game aimed for the hardcore fans of the franchise.

Fun and frantic but not as deep or as beautiful as we'd like it to be. Besides that, this game has been designed as a love letter to JoJos fans, anyone else will feel a little lost.

While I’m not familiar with the manga this game is based on and can’t speak to its fidelity as an adaptation, when taken on its own terms it’s a robust and satisfying arena brawler with almost too much story.

It’s not without its rough edges or its share of strange design choices, but for the most part, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven is a hugely enjoyable brawler that makes the most of its striking source material thanks to its great writing, beautiful cel-shaded visuals and wealth of fan-friendly content.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven builds on the foundation laid by its predecessor with a completely original story by the series’ author that showcases just why fans love this series.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven differs significantly from All Star Battle. The introduction of the third dimension and the implementation of battles focused on 2v2, make the experience less complex than the previous one. Despite this, the game contains a complete and incredibly varied roster, as well as a very long-lived story mode, supervised by the same author of the manga.

If you like the manga or anime though, this is a fun time.
Worth Playing

In the end, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven can be divisive. The new fighting system is fine, but the lack of depth in moves, a few cumbersome commands, and bad camera make it less fun to work with than the previous title.

Eyes of Heaven tries perhaps too hard to translate the bizarre dynamics of the original work into a chaotic brawler which is kinda fun but also very frustrating to play. With no training mode or competitive/cooperative local play, you are stuck to a long story mode with tons of goodies to unlock.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven is a game with an overall good presentation. The graphics and music set the tone for something spectacular and formidable. Sadly though, uninspired gameplay mechanics and a very stupid artificial intelligence turn the whole experience dull. Playing with other users may help, but that does not fix the minor flaws that prevent this from being a good JoJo's game.

Eyes of Heaven offers a wacky story with plenty of varying dialogue that will bring in even the most casual Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, but the gameplay is average at best that doesn't offer much substance other than making sure the button mashes connect before the opponent's does. Fans of the anime will appreciate this game, but the casual gamer will not get much out of this title.

It's not an actual sequel of the previous title, so it's hard to compare. Still, we don't like the new formula as much as we liked the previous one, so we can only recommend this game to Jojo's fans.

Eyes of Heaven offers lots of contents, but it isn't particularly convincing in terms of gameplay.

Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 tried really hard to create something new. Despite the good fan service, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven doesn't manage to emerge from the many anime tie-ins released in these past few years. Good for a fun evening with friends, bound to be forgotten as soon as the last guest leaves the house.

Doesn’t mean I think it’s worth a full price tag purchase, but fans of the Joestars should find enjoyment in it. Everybody else, consult and test with your Bizarre Adventure-loving friend before dropping any coin on Eyes of Heaven.

Fans of the manga will be pleased with this fantastic story mode, but all the others will see the big flaws of the game: no local multiplayer mode and a disastrous online multiplayer mode.
