Everything is absolutely fantastic, and while in-game performance isn't perfect, it's hardly enough of a downside to affect my view of the game overall. Avalanche has truly brought the thunder.

Just Cause 4 is just like its predecessor, but bigger, better, faster. Most of the grind was removed, while “creative destruction” aspect is better than ever.

If you love open world games that let you loose to just play with things and see what kind of mayhem you can create, there's no better series than Just Cause 4. And while this holiday season is filled to the brim with new games, I would strongly advise against sleeping on Rico's latest adventure. It's one you'll be guaranteed to have dozens of hours of fun with.

With its extreme weather scenarios and the familiar, over-the-top usage of Rico’s grapple gun, wingsuit and parachute, Just Cause 4 is the most ridiculous and best it has ever been.

Just Cause 4 is a very entertaining package and its potential won’t be fully tapped for a long time.

Just Cause 4 is the best entry in the series to date, offering spectacular free-wheeling destruction on a scale that’s not been attempted before. Rico remains one of gaming’s most enjoyable protagonists, but more than ever before, it’s really all about what he’s capable of doing rather than the events unfolding around him.

Explosive open-world spectacle in the form of a playable B-movie. Graphical weaknesses and boring missions lower the score for Just Cause 4.

Just Cause 4 is the perfect example of what Just Cause is. The action is over-the-top and amazing, but the story is really thin and missions get repetitive. If you love the explosive gameplay however, you are set for a perfect vacation.

Just Cause 4 does not represent a setback or a bad delivery in the terms of the franchise and if you are a fan of the adventures of Rico Rodriguez, you will not be disappointed after making the revolution succeed in Solis.

When designing a new game in a long-running franchise, the developers face a fundamental question: go with the tried-and-true or risk trying something new? In this case the former approach was chosen and it was the right decision, because JC4 is as enjoyable as its predecessors. It has some obvious flaws (e.g. uneven visuals and some repetitive mission types) but they are easily outweighed by incredibly fun gameplay. It is simply a well-made, thrilling open world game.

IGN December 3, 2018
Just Cause 4 is a slightly better version of Just Cause 3's destruction-fueled action, but lacks a big new idea to give it an identity of its own.

The franchise essence is still there and responsible for a lot of over the top explosive action that you love or hate about the series. But the enormous hardware requirements of the Apex engine make this a tough cookie to chew on - even more so on consoles.

In Just Cause 4 you will have fun making things explode and exploring the map in the most different ways, but don’t expect a great depth of play.

Multiplayer.it December 3, 2018
Just Cause 4 tries to bring the series to a new level, but in the end the game delivers the same funny sandbox experience it's very well known for, with only little differences.

Jeuxvideo.com December 3, 2018
Just Cause 4, on PC, is a totally free sandbox experience where physics matter. Unluckily, the repetitive aspect of missions objectives will disappoint those who seek more than a physic playground, even if its combat system has evolved.

Just Cause 4 is a really engrossing game that makes you want to goof around. The amount of new toys will decide about the longevity of this game - players can unlock A LOT of them during their progress with the main storyline. Unfortunately, it also means that gamers have to complete a dozen of repetitive tasks. Despite that, it's still worth it.

Just Cause 4 is a great sandbox with a funny action moments, but you'll find repetitive missions and great ideas unexplored.

Still delivers the series' sandbox mayhem, but is underserved by some pretty dated systems.

The Games Machine December 3, 2018
The latest adventure of Rico Rodriguez, with its good dose of adrenaline and over-the-top action, forces our hero to embark on a real impossible mission to dismantle the dangerous Project Illapa. Despite the lack of variety and the exaggerated length of the campaign, Just Cause 4 still manages to push the boundaries of players’ imaginations, dragging them once again into a world of destruction, explosions and pure chaos.

Just Cause 4 refines everything that made its predecessor great. It’s still one of the most generous and bombastic open world games, but its new systems don’t progress the sandbox as much as they should.
