Katamari Amore is more Katamari, which will be good enough for a lot of people.

The charm and the fun offered by Katamari Amore are inversely proportional to our knowledge of the series. The ones who had the opportunity to try the game on other platforms or even in its previous iOS version, in fact, may be disappointed by the lack of real innovations. However the touch controls work good and you can get a good number of maps and modes by buying the first available pack.

Katamari Amore remains loyal to the spirit of the brand, involving the player in a funny experience.

A decent proposal that follows the path of the series, but although it is supposed to be free, actually it is a very limited version with a lot of DLC to unlock after paying for it. Nonetheless, the game is still a good one, although a bit far from what we've come to expect from Katamari.

While fans of the Katamari series who can't get enough of the gameplay will love this one, and newcomers will get a chance to see why these strange little games keep getting made, this is hardly fresh. For a series that's so original in design, isn't it time to toy around a bit with the game design? Just mixing up new levels isn't going to cut it.

KATAMARI's second release on the App Store could have taken the series so much further, but instead it's simply content in polishing what came years before while metering out its content in dribs and drabs.

iOS games can be made with love and joy, they can be funny and charming. Those are things the Katamari series has had in spades, and it's a shame they're missing here.

Rest assured that if you absolutely adore this series, Katamari Amore delivers more of the same. Whether or not that's good enough, though, is entirely up to you.

It might be Amore for Namco, but our love affair with Katamari is all but over.
