The most impressive looking and playing surf game ever created...If Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer doesn't spark a huge interest in videogame surfing, well then sh*t, nothing will.

An excellent surfing game that not only looks and sounds great, but also makes all three aspects of competitive surfing fun; the tube tricks, the face tricks, and the aerials.

The digital beaches of the game are so close in look and feel to the real thing that I could almost smell the salt water.

Impressive gameplay and stunning visuals make this one a must have for surfers and wannabes alike.

The career mode has a lot of depth, and pulling off all of the tricks in the spectacular looking waves is an absolute joy.

While it may not capture the "feel" of surfing quite as well as its closest competitor, it makes up for it with better wave models and the incredible number of actions to perform on each wave.

It's organic intensity versus Hawk's urban chaos, but it works.

Easily the most cohesive and well-rounded surfing game to hit the PS2 yet, and a unique and enjoyable extreme sports game in its own right.

One humongous drawback to this otherwise seemingly outstanding surf game, however, is the ongoing slowdown.

Fluid gameplay, great visuals, and a huge amount of overall depth easily override some low-key soundtracks, a frustrating camera, and a high degree of difficulty.

Certainly playable, but without the adrenaline charge of actual surfing, it feels like I'm playing one endless Tony Hawk level.

The replays are totally interactive, the camera can be set just about anywhere, and the control is so easily grasped, you'll be busting out moves that would take you a lifetime to learn.

There’s still room for a more user-friendly control scheme and fun virtual surfing experience to come down the pike.

At its core, Kelly just feels like a bare-bones version of "THPS" in the ocean.

It’s difficult to look at Kelly Slater as anything more than a cash-in.

It's more successful than any other surfing game that's come before it, but its seemingly random waves and amazing physics don't entirely overcome its repetitive nature or lack of difficulty.

The whole game concept is worn and exhausted, the graphics are shallow, the gameplay is repetitive, and the sounds are poor.
