Kirby’s Blowout Blast is easily my favourite of the mini games released on the 3DS due to how much more depth is has compared to the others. You’re getting around 5-6 hours of play from your $10 purchase, making it a good way to tide you over until Kirby returns later this year on the 3DS and Switch in 2018.

In a time of games that stretch into the tens of hours, it’s nice to have a game full of short gameplay bursts designed to be replayed over and over, Blowout Blast is a wonderful little distraction.

Kirby’s Blowout Blast is a fun, short distraction that acts as a pseudo-retelling of Kirby’s Dreamland. The levels are short, there aren’t a large variety of bosses, and there is a notable lack of surprises, but replaying levels to earn a platinum level, or even just ace your score, is what makes this game almost worth the $6.99 purchase.

I like it – but it's really still just a proof of concept.

For around £6.29 or your regional equivalent, Kirby’s Blowout Blast is a surprisingly packed game for the price. Sure it won’t take long to blitz through the five worlds that first time, but the real appeal is in trying to get as high a score as possible and achieve those ranks. If you’re just looking for a short game that’s fun with a slightly novel concept for the platform, then Kirby’s Blowout Blast is certainly a better proposition than the free-to-play Team Kirby Clash Deluxe.

Kirby's Blowout Blast on Nintendo 3DS eShop isn't going to be lighting anyone's world on fire, but it's a bite-sized little beauty for Kirby fans. Its short stages and score-based focus deliver a highly inviting title with extra replayability that completely captures the heart of Kirby adventures. While the cost is fair, it's sadly far too short and a full version of this would have been very welcomed.

Blowout Blast is as fun as it is simple. It's also as charming as it is easy, but it has a nice difficulty curve if you go for the best trophies. The last Kirby on 3DS is far from the possibilities of full-fledged games like Triple Deluxe or Planet Robobot, but as an eShop entry to play in little bursts, it gets the job done.

This is a smaller Kirby game, but still quite enjoyable. If you want more Kirby and you're ok with a less traditional approach, this is a good choice.

Kirby's Blowout Blast is a very cool, but way too short game. It has every Kirby element you need and it is ideal for on the road. There are no challenges in the game and the framerate drops if you use 3D. Still you get a very nice game for only 7 euros.

Kirby’s Blowout Blast leans back upon the series’ roots for its gameplay, which could be seen as both a positive and a hindrance. The game has solid controls, is beautiful and easy to pick up, play, and replay. It's also just a bit too simple in its construction, and could have benefited from some surprises within the main stages to spice things up. There is still plenty of Kirby love for collectors not to regret the digital purchase and younger players will likely have a blast, but others not fully into the score-chasing element might find the experience slightly deflated by the IP's high standards.

Kirby’s Blowout Blast is the very definition of short and sweet. It’s a lunchtime diversion, that doesn’t pack any surprises but does at least have a somewhat addictive speed-running nature if you’re not easily distracted.

While its lifespan and difficulty level could certainly use some stimulation, Blowout Blast is a fun and welcome action game that will please those who like a high-score challenge.

A quick game that will delight the fanbase and nothing more.

You get what you give with Kirby's Blowout Blast: a little sum of money for a little game, fun in short bursts but repetitive if played for long time, far too easy and with less than a couple of hours of gameplay.

Blowout Blast is another game I'll stuff in the "Kirby" folder on my 3DS, occasionally going back to it when I have a few moments to spare.

A short, boring, useless game, Kirby's Blowout Blast could be addictive for some younger players only.

Although it's set in the delightful Kirby universe, there's no denying that Blowout Blast is little more than a bare-bones and unchallenging experience. That being said, if you want to teach a toddler how to play video games then this is a solid entry point.
