If you're looking for pure arcade action that's a blast to play locally, Knight Squad is worth checking out. There's a ton of modes to keep things varied, and the chaotic pace is perfect for party play.

One of the funniest games you can play with your friends, either locally or with your Xbox Live friends. Even if you play against the AI bots by yourself you will get some fun, or get some real challenge if you choose the Extreme AI bots difficulty.

Knight Squad finds its strength in its simplicity and intuitive structure. Supported by a good number of variations, the game flows really smooth and pleasantly, even if it can't last for too long. Obviously, the multiplayer is practically mandatory.

There's no shortage of cool party games these days, and Knight Squad stands among them. It's not something I see myself returning to time and time again like some of its peers, but I got a kick out its accessible, action-packed multiplayer. If you're coming along for the ride, be sure to bring friends.

There are better multiplayer-focused games, but Knight Squad is definitely interesting and fun, and we think it is worth your time taking into account it's available as one of the Games with Gold on Xbox One.

Despite the range of game modes, this game is very small. When you look at the bigger picture you’re basically doing the same thing over and over again. Running around and hitting things with the same button, and the same can be said for the challenges. On the other hand, the game is fun when played with friends. It probably wont keep you entertained for a whole night of gaming, but you’ll certainly have some funny moments along the way.

It's perfect for a night with friends, or very short sessions. Played with bots it could grow old at alarming speed, so it's definitely better served with pals to enjoy it with.

Knight Squad suffers from a couple of problems, but overall, it's good for what it is. It's a way to get friends together to slash them to ribbons and, barring that, it's a quick way to kill some time in the online space.

With already shaky matchmaking, and the chances of regularly rounding up four or five spare Xbox controllers (let alone willing playmates) in the same living room rather slim, however, some of Knight Squad’s potential is sadly squandered.
