For 360 owners, I'm happy to help you breathe a sigh of relief when I say that The Passing is an excellent, meaningful addition to Left 4 Dead 2, and worth the 560 Microsoft Point asking price.

Mutation mode is tons of fun for the Infected as it allows you to truly feel dominating, but the real adrenaline rush is for the Survivors, who have to communicate and have fast reflexes in order to survive.

Generous, right? More so for PC owners, who get all of the above for free.

The seven bucks it costs on Xbox 360 seems a little steep, especially when the quality of future mutations remains unknown. What's here is ultimately very good, but it comes at a small premium.

The Passing adds a new Campaign, a new infected and some extras for the multiplayer side that should make Left 4 Dead 2 fans very happy.

If you are still enjoying Left 4 Dead 2, or have a hankering to get back into the apocalypse, spending 560 Microsoft points ($7) on The Passing is a good bet.

The new campaign's a solid enough addition, if a brief one.

Certainly it's worth picking up down the road when it gets its price slashed like the Crash Course DLC for the original title has had recently. Regardless of this, if you're still very much infected, sorry, I mean invested in the co-op experience and can drag your buddies along for the ride, then the new campaign will certainly offer up the value to justify the cost.

It's just a shame that this unique combination of still-alivers didn't result in something truly innovative.
