Legend of Keepers is a good mix of ideas that could use some more variety. For the first 10 to 15 hours it has the pace and content to throw new ideas and new options out. It’s very fun to take down new groups of more powerful heroes and see what’s the best combination of monsters and traps to sap their spirit or to destroy their health points. The game also has plenty of long-term goals. But once I learned more about the monsters and the enemies I found it hard to get excited, even when I got a new powerful creature or when a powerful hero dropped in. Goblinz Studio understands the two genres it is mixing but it should have added a pinch more innovation to make Legend of Keepers into a long-term fun experience.

The phrase “reversed Darkest Dungeon” springs to mind immediately. Groups of heroes delve into dark dungeons, suffering bodily and mental wounds as they face hellish monsters in an attempt to reach the evil lord. The difference is, in Legend of Keepers you are the evil lord – and it’s so much fun! The only flaw I need to point out is that it’s quite easy to find a combination of monsters which makes it possible to finish every dungeon without much effort.

Entertaining as well as funny dungeon defense with roguelite elements and Twitch integration.

We don't often have the opportunity to put ourselves in our enemies’ shoes, and Legend of Keepers: Career of a Dungeon Manager succeeds at bringing a slight breeze of novelty to a positively overcrowded genre, these days. It offers a casual approach, thanks to extremely fast runs, but completing the game with all three available classes requires some commitment, and the variety of monsters and traps never makes it repetitive despite its simplicity.

Legend of Keepers is a well-made management sim with a lot of humour. It also looks quite nice and offers a lot of replayability. However, too many things it confronts the player with rely on luck.

Flipping the dungeon raid on its head, Legend of Keepers is a roguelike-strategy game hybrid that’s worth your time. It might have its tongue firmly pressed to its cheek at times but underneath its irreverent exterior is a deep and engrossing tactical gem. This is once corporate ladder you might want to synergise with.

Legend of Keepers is a game that’s a lot smoother than its title. Seriously, I had written the whole review for “Legend of Keeper” before catching my mistake in editing. The art is fantastic, the writing is fitting, and the repetition might be repetitive, but not too much so. The campaign format leaves the doors wide open for future DLC, and the game already has mod support. But it’s too bad that some modders (the ones not porting Heroes of Might and Magic III models) are only interested in putting more anime waifus into the game.

Legend of Keepers is a delight to play. It has such character, both in its looks and humour, that it feels unique when compared to other games out there. For those who want to work hard to create undefeatable monsters and dungeons, there’s plenty of scope to carve out your success. It's definitely a title to try out for yourself, even if you’re not usually one for this type of turn-based indie RPG.

All in all, Legend of Keepers is a fine game with some issues and lots of things to love. There are certainly better rogue-lite/management games out there, but this title provides a unique flavor that may be perfectly suited for the right player.

Visually successful and above all funny, Legend of Keepers manages to deliver a satisfying Roguelite experience without revolutionizing the genre. With its principle of inverted dungeon-crawler, we quickly get into the game looking for the best possible synergies to face the vile heroes. Unfortunately, despite these three characters and these different game modes, the title of Goblinz Studio does not manage to renew itself enough to offer varied game situations and make the player stay for several dozen hours of play. This does not prevent for all that the title of being effective, and above all, of making people laugh on many occasions.

A nice roguelike game with some interesting twists. We'd love to have a deeper management feature and some more end game content.

Legend of Keepers is a witty tactics game, nevertheless frustrating through too much randomness, it also lacks long-term motivation.

Legend of Keepers fools you into expecting a deep game, but in reality, all these numbers and nuances belie primitive battles, while roguelike elements are nothing but a grindfest.
