Legend of the Skyfish is a veritable tribute to the 2D adventure genre while trying something new.

If you are a fan of other Crescent Moon titles like The Deer God and Almightree: The Last Dreamer, or just enjoy Zelda games, then you’ll get a kick out of Legend of the Skyfish.

At its core, Legend of the Skyfish is just a game with a winning premise that its developers cultivated into reaching as much of its potential as possible. I could see where future content or sequels could expand the breadth of actions you can undertake with your magical fishing pole, sure. But this game right now is a joyous experience worth checking out.

The inevitable comparison with Zelda is (as always) a little too demanding, and ultimately misleading. Having said that, The Legend of the Skyfish is an enjoyable and original action adventure for mobile platforms.

Legend of the Skyfish might be a little awkward in a few areas, but it doesn’t ruin the experience so much as disappoint me a little when I think about what could’ve been. It’s a tiny big adventure that should have felt better, but is still worth taking.
