A grand strategy game that gives you some serious value for your buck.

4X fans should be able to extract plenty of entertainment from this Danish import.

For a game so concerned with balance, its annoyances are in danger of outweighing its virtues.

If you’re willing to dive into its briny unforgiving depths and learn from it, then there is about as much here as there is to get from a turn-based strategy.

While the story is light and terribly translated at times, the quests are rewarding enough (resource-wise) to keep you doing them.

Massive and daunting easily describe this game. Lost Empire: Immortal is not a game for the first-time turn-based strategy gamer, but rather for that niche that wants to micro-manage every nuance of a society and slowly (sometimes it feels agonizingly slow) build up to a point where you truly are the power in the universe.

Lots of stars, not much sparkle. Stick with "GalCiv II."

Lost Empire: Immortals is such a huge space strategy game that its scale eclipses its appeal to all but the most dedicated fans of the genre.

This was probably one of the more interesting games in this genre that I’ve ever bothered to play, but after playing it for a few hours, I don’t think I’ll be spending a whole lot more time with it.

It’s huge and ambitious, but you run the risk of losing the will to live in the process of playing.

The hardcore strategy game fans amongst us will adore this. It's a true challenge and it will last a very, very long time. However if you're any less than a hardcore fan (and I mean the type of fan who will forego sleep for a week just to play networked Civilization) you might not like this at all.

Hardcore turn-based strategy fans will soon tire of the "in-space" novelty and recognize that Immortals is nothing more than an unoriginal, formulaic budget title.

It's hardly spacesuit gripping stuff. While there are promising facets to Lost Empire's simple yet expansive empire building, ultimately it feels unfinished and uninspiring, and more of a lost opportunity than anything else.

There’s no unifying factor to the game, no universal joy to be had, no... I need a beer.
