Lost Grimoires 2 could’ve been a cut above the rest, but it lets itself down in familiar ways. It’s a real credit to the puzzling then that it’s still a very good game to chill out and get stuck in to.

Only a few new things from the most recent Artifex Mundi release. Same old quick and easy completion with its fair share of puzzles to solve and hidden objects to find. Still art looks great while animations, voice acting, and narrative are a bit lacking. Arguably one of the better titles released by the studio.

Lost Grimoires 2 is a sequel that carries only minimal ties to the game that preceded it, meaning that it is perfectly playable on its own or as part of the trilogy. The casual adventure title can be enjoyed by all audiences due to the simple nature of its gameplay. Neither the hidden object scenes nor puzzles are too complicated, although the lack of alternative to the hidden object scenes will be jarring for some. The transfusion mechanic makes a welcome return and provides the most challenging puzzles of the title, although there is nothing that will see players rushing for the hint button or a guide. The title is a more worthwhile experience than its predecessor, but there have been better games in the Artifex Mundi portfolio.

Casual puzzle fans should enjoy Lost Grimoires 2, as it’s a title you can sit down with and enjoy in short bursts if needed, and it isn’t overly challenging. For experts in the genre, you may want to look elsewhere if you’re looking for puzzles that are going to stump you, though luckily playing the first game isn’t a prerequisite to enjoy this one. While this isn’t Artifex Mundi’s strongest title in the catalogue, Lost Grimoires 2 is a fun distraction for $10 if you’re looking to relax and try out your alchemy skills on a lazy weekend.

The new graphic adventure of Artifex Mundi, the promoter of this generation of point&click. The sequel to Lost Grimoires does not offer enough novelties or improvements to reach a very high level. However, as an independent graphic adventure is varied and entertaining in its mechanics.

It’s short, the story loses grip, and the puzzles are far too easy throughout.
