A perfect cross-buy option for puzzle lovers, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is the next great entry in the long running series. This time adding new mechanics and the online level sharing to create near infinite possibilities.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is very reminiscent of Lemmings, as the goal is to guide Mario and friends through levels by manipulating objects around them, instead of directly controlling them. Creating inventive ways to avoid hazards and collect coins make each level a challenging, but endearing, experience.

Although it remains a simple - and for the most part unchanged - concept, the Mario vs. Donkey Kong formula has been honed to near-perfection over the years. Tipping Stars is far from revolutionary, but for quick bursts of action-puzzling, there’s little better. While the cast of robotic minis might be brainless, the game they star in is anything but.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is a hugely enjoyable action puzzler with some really fantastic ideas and mechanics. The sharing feature is easily the biggest draw, and the possibility of fresh content being available for years to come is enormously exciting.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is enjoyable but rather easy, even in later stages.

Donkey Kong Tipping Stars is a great game for beginners but it has low difficulty for hardcore players. It may be short, but its Bonus Levels and the Editor Mode can give a lot of funny moments. Anyway, it's not a revolutionary game.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars insures us that this series is still just fun and addictive as ever. Its new online ‘tipping’ system is original, and gives gamers more incentive to keep building.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars! is again a Lemmings - like game from Nintendo, but it adds cross-buy, a level editor and online functionalities. The solid puzzle game franchise is a bit more modern that way, but the additions are not really inventive.

As always it is a great feeling to puzzle your cutesy Mini's all the way to the end door. It is solid puzzle-gameplay with a happy feel to it, but it does not really excite us. Nothing new is added to the franchise and the TV does not add anything to the game besides better graphics.

A smart and solid game, with a lack of levels that will probably be filled by the community shared creations.

The gameplay is classic and solid, but it lacks refreshing ideas. Whoever has already played any Mario vs. Donkey Kong with Lemmings influence, won't find anything new here. The editor is the better part of the offering, and the star economy is fun enough to put to good profit.

Whether the face revealed by a zombified Mini Mario is fresh or not, the mechanics of Tipping Stars are mostly old, but they still shine through this brilliant lesson of level design. Then aspiring - and inspired - puzzle builders can give their own interpretation to the community, stimulated by an even more gratifying workshop. Surely a t(r)ip towards the seventh heaven for all brain teasing games' lovers.

Even though Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars isn’t a “full” game in terms of what it offers and its pricing, it still has lots of potential. The end product is a puzzle game that is easy to play, but difficult to master.

A fair but unimaginative puzzle game, Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is a good way to spend some afternoons, but the series really needs a twist to go on.

The level editor is a great example of empowering players with clear and solid tools, which allow you to to work creatively and effectively without being hampered by overly complicated systems.

Like Minis on the Move, Tipping Stars won’t draw the kind of crowd Mario’s other extracurricular activities (kart racing, tennis, golf) might, but it’s no less a quality way to kill time while on the go.

Funny, creative, but with not very many puzzles. A Trojan Horse for Mario Maker. With this new game in the Mario vs Donkey series the Nintendo community is going to be tested if they're ready for a level editor.

FNintendo March 24, 2015
The level editor is an excellent choice to add to the game and the possibility to download its version released for the other console upon purchase is a welcoming sign from Nintendo. It could improve, though, by showing more original content when compared to its predecessors.

Whether you’re a Mario vs. Donkey Kong series veteran or are diving into the toy-puzzle scene for the first time, Tipping Stars will (eventually) challenge you with tough stages to master, even if it doesn’t exactly bring anything new of value to the table.

Tipping Stars is just about what you’d expect from a modern Mario vs. Donkey Kong title: unique, fun in short bursts, and inexpensive—but nevertheless, nothing terribly exciting.
