There's a ton of content here, and even more gameplay to be had.

Not being a fan of this genre, I found myself engaged in reliving some fond memories of heroes and villains I nearly forgot about.

The one biggest failing of the Marvel Trading Card Game is one that no programming magic could fix — namely, that the game will be overlooked simply because the Vs System is less known than its competition, and tragically, that makes finding other people to play against that much more difficult.

The game has a robust online element to it, and also plays well in solo mode.

If dueling with collectible cards isn't your idea of a fun time, the Marvel Trading Card Game doesn't really offer anything new to pull you or other gamers in.

The poor visuals and hard to read text further alienate this game from users, but if you can manage to look past these shortcomings you will find a unique and truly engaging experience that is well worth your thirty bucks.

For everyone else out there who's been looking for a foiled Deadpool card, Konami has packed a lot of game inside this UMD for you.

It does an excellent job of tapping into the collector's mentality of comic-book fans...Just be warned that the game is far less than it could have been due to weak visuals, repetitive sounds and a story mode that is too long for its own good.

While the interface needs some work the cards are still the selling point of the game. If you’ve never played a TCG before then you might find this game a little daunting at first. While it might be rough around the edges the core experience of a TCG is still left mostly intact.

This is a card collecting game, and it appears that it will help keep the genre alive a little longer. It's more akin to a defibrillation than a Genesis.

Marvel TCG isn't too bad as far as digital trading-card games go, but it's unlikely to convert anyone not already invested in TCGs.

Marvel Trading Card Game is worth a look if your interested in this type of strategy turn based game. Konami has done a very good job adding this game to the PSP handheld system.

It's just that the intense complexity and cramped screen real-estate kept it from being the accessible, instantly lovable smash-bang, super hero-em-up that the comics themselves are.

Those who are already into this stuff, or already have a complete understanding of the rule set will love this game. Those who are trying it out for the first time will be overwhelmed very quickly, and should definitely rent before buying.

The gameplay is fun at times, but the manner with which you have to progress through single player to unlock cards is downright grueling and unrewarding.

It's most definitely a niche game though, so the casual player will probably only play it a few times before the monotony of doing the same thing over and over sinks in.

For existing fans of trading card games, this is an addictive package offering potentially hours of exciting play. Everyone else may strongly disagree.

With loading times between battles lasting an age, you'd be better off playing the real-life card game equivalent.

While Marvel Trading is a good implementation of the Vs. System that will make fans of that franchise very happy, the game doesn't do a good job of facilitating new players by making things easy. On the other hand, perhaps it is enough to give core fans what they want, albeit with no frills.

Or just implode at the superpower-draining load times.
