Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Critic Reviews

There is so much here to play; it's very much two games in one. Not only do you have the single player campaign to play through, which can also be done via adhoc Co-Op, but there's also a 6 player competitive mode like Metal Gear Online.

After an in-depth, critical analysis, I simply couldn't find anything wrong with Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Through and through, Peace Walker is easily the best game on Sony's handheld, and walks all over some of great console games I've played, too.

For all of those who were doubting it, rest assured: Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is very much a true MGS... but most importantly a true game! The saga's DNA is everywhere in this title, and it's been expanded so much, that this adventure gets a distinctive taste of its own. Less interactive movie, and more game than ever, there are so many modes, bonuses, and other elements to unlock as you play that it's almost unbelievable. The Monster Hunter's influence is clear, and it's a blessing for Kojima's game. To the point that between the management of your Mother Base, your equipment, and your troops, the game even becomes addictive for other things than its solo campaign. No doubt, this is a major episode in the series, for its overwhelming content, its level of quality, and the power of its story. And the platform it has been released on as well : a strong signal sent to the industry, that portable devices are becoming more and more important, from Japan to our part of the world.

MGS fans rejoice, the bang-for-buck ratio has never been higher than in Metal Gear: Peace Walker, and those of you who are new to the series, or gave up when it all got too ridiculous, give this one a go, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Although the game's difficulty gets really ramped up by the end, this is undeniably Metal Gear. Bonus for the Modern Warfare-style extra ops and various obligatory Easter eggs hidden here.

Not only it pays a debt with series followers in PSP, but is also one of the most brilliant, complete and must-have titles of the PSP.

This game is insanely deep...a masterpiece. Not only is it in the running for the title of greatest game ever on the PSP, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is one of the greatest games in the entire Metal Gear franchise.

With great graphics, a sturdy gameplay engine and some of the best music ever to grace this console, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is truly the next chapter in the MGS series and dare I say it, one of the best releases for this console in quite some time

The only word that can possibly define this game is "masterpiece". What else would you call a game that adds more depth, more customization, a new plot and a new, incredible look, to one of the premium series in the history of Sony's consoles?

Despite its difficulty at points, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is as close to brilliance as you can get on the PSP.

A fantastic title that shows off the power of the system as well as the possibilities open to further developers. It proves once and for all that portable systems can stand beside consoles.

Do not wait for the PSP2. Buy a copy of this game and the hardware necessary to play it as soon as is humanly possible. You're not going to see a better marriage of technical know-how, narrative inventiveness and holy-crap-I'm-playing-a-console-game-on-a-handheld-level awe on the system.

Fans of the series will like this installment and newcomers to Metal Gear Solid like me will enjoy it as well.

Kojima does it again. He delivers a game on the PSP that is one of the best PSP games in years. It has great gameplay, co-operative features and the UMD disc has an unbelievable amount of content. If you like Metal Gear Solid and good PSP games, than Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is the game to have!

It's more than good enough to call Peace Walker a genuine Metal Gear Solid 5. There's almost too much game here - there's no bigger game on PSP and no more varied game in the entire Metal Gear series. It's a technical showcase, sure, but Peace Walker is also a creative showcase that proves that nobody on Earth makes games like Hideo Kojima - because nobody else ever could.

It's at once true to its heritage yet willing to spin the Metal Gear format in a new and entertaining direction. And while the fallout from these changes does occasionally undermine the action, those small moments of frustration and compromise are forgivable in the context of all that Peace Walker does well.
