I don't care how it was done, but the results are simply breathtaking.

If trains are your bag, this is your program. There are other train simulators out there, but this is bar none the most polished, most complete, and with a company like Microsoft backing it up, likely to be the best supported of them all.

MTS will provide hours of deeply immersive entertainment. Those not seeking that experience are gently urged to look elsewhere.

One of the best things about Train Simulator is that like its flying cousin, this is basically an open-source graphics and physics engine that anyone can expand on and add objects, trains, routes, and activities to.

This game rocks along the rails, providing a very close experience to the actual experience of riding or working for a railroad. From traversing the mountain passes to rolling along scenic coastlines, this is a wonderful outing.

Clearly aimed at locomotive enthusiasts and hardcore simmers. If you fall into those two categories, you’ll not be disappointed.

The great graphics and sound enhance the realism already set forth in the engine (no pun intended). If you like trains at all, pick up Train Simulator.

An accurate, immersive, and extensible simulation of conducting a train that train fans and general sim fans will find simply irresistible-although it might not do much for the gamers not enthused about trains.

A finely crafted, meticulous, and often beautiful re-creation of some very colorful trains and railways, with depth to satisfy a hard-core player and simplicity that lets you just enjoy the ride.

Not for everyone, but rail buffs will absolutely love it. Where other train simulations have attempted to recreate a model railroading experience, this one is designed to give you a taste of the real thing.

On one hand, the simulator will wow train fanatics and will probably give them all they want. On the other hand, casual gamers would most likely be bored to tears.

The game is pretty cool but a little low on the excitement side, at least for my tastes...People who are nuts about trains -- you know who you are -- will find Train Sim to be the most in-depth and enjoyable train simulator on the market.

The physics model of Train Simulator is quite simply dead-on. Your biggest enemy is derailment. There are all sorts of ways to derail a train when you drive it badly.

Even though the product has a complicated editor, a huge install size, and an absence of depicted passengers, its impressive graphics, sound effects, and realism make up for its shortcomings.

For those looking for a challenging and strangely-addictive diversion that's considerably different than the majority of computer game offerings out there, MTS is an excellent pick for ages 8 to 108.

There are some nice stretches of track to travel on and plenty of things to do along the way, but several of the activities are downright dull, while others are marred by questionable design decisions such as lengthy stops and the excessive use of temporary speed limits in the most boring parts of a track.
