Minecraft Live returns to the 28th September with a 'new look and feel'

Mojang announced the next Minecraft Live showcase on September 28, with a "new look and feel."

"We will be revealing never-before-seen drops of games, giving you an exclusive look at new things coming to Minecraft's world, and much more!" Owen Jones, from Mojang, wrote. "It comes directly from the developers of the Minecraft HQ in Stockholm.

"We've prepared an after-show where you'll be able to watch our developers go deeper into the updates and experience new content for the very first time."

This Minecraft Live is the first since Mojang announced that it would no longer be releasing its annual summer updates, but instead releasing smaller updates throughout the year and switching to "more focused", twice-yearly showcases. This is a huge event, as this will be the first time to see the new approach.

Mojang is expected to play through some of the newly announced features immediately after. It's safe for us to assume that the new additions have already been in development for a while and could be coming soon. We don't yet know if there will be a "Minecraft 2.2" update, or if future updates will be smaller and less focused on the big numbers versions.

This edition of Minecraft Live, which will begin at 10 am PT/1pm ET on September 28, will be broadcasted in English with English audio descriptions. ASL and BSL will also be available. After the initial broadcast, it will be translated in Arabic (MSA), Chinese, Chinese (Traditional), Czech (Simplified), Filipino, French, French(Canadian), German (ASL), Greek, Hebrew (BSL), Hindi, Indonesian (MSA), Italian, Japanese (Traditional), Korean, Malay (Farsi), Polish (Simplified), Brazilian Portuguese (Portuguese), Portuguese (Castilian), Castilian Spanish (Mexican), Russian (Swe
