A prominent step in the right direction. The gameplay remains fun and humorous yet it features all the modes and licensing you would expect from the more serious games.

With so many options, Quick Play to a Home Run Derby to a Season, you can play all day and not use the same player or combination twice. The graphics are superb and the movements of each of the players are fluid and clean.

If you're looking for a game that concentrates on the fun aspects of the sport, a throwback to the days when baseball games were a fast and fun arcade experience, then you've come to the right place.

With zany characters, extreme action, and a solid baseball background, this is the definite break that casual fans of the sport can totally root for.

All the things we loved about last year’s game are back as well as some great additions--and animations--to make this a worthwhile purchase.

Forget the serene day at the ballpark; Slugfest delivers action, fisticuffs, and plenty of fun.

A pure arcade baseball game, geared towards the individual who wants to pick up and play a game of extreme arcade baseball.

By far, the best element in the game is the hilarious commentary.

The "extreme" additions work exceedingly well in the baseball setting. What could have been a shoddy title riding on a gimmick turned out to be one of the better arcade baseball games in recent memory.

Due to good physics modeling, sharp AI, and spot-on controls, no amount of wonky pitches and fiery players, watery stadiums, and moronic (if hilarious) commentary can detract from the solid gameplay.

The biggest improvement is the overall visual quality of the game.

The addition of Special Pitches is especially nice, and will definitely elicit a "Damn!" the first time you see one whiz past.

Hot chicks on the loading screens, madcap commentary, useful cheats, and an all-new Special Pitch will keep arcade enthusiasts smiling like Steinbrenner after signing a 14th starting pitcher.

Players who lost touch with baseball games when they went 3D on the PlayStation may find that Slugfest is exactly what they've been missing.

Doesn't just do an excellent job of conveying a time-honored tradition's mass appeal, but portrays it in such an exciting light that even haters such as myself can't help but recognize.

Multiplayer action shines - it's always a blast to vibrate your buddy's controller via the Taunt button after belting another pitch over the fences. Just don't expect "High Heat"-style complexity.

It's not baseball. Slugfest is "NFL Blitz" with bats... If you know what you're getting going in, you'll have a blast.
