Monster Hunter Wilds will feature a farting ape that is sure to delight fans.
Capcom confirmed in a livestream at Tokyo Game Show that the farting ape Congalala will return to the Monster Hunter franchise for Monster Hunter Wilds. This is the next main-line release of the series about turning dragons into pants and skinning them. Congalala's return is quite impressive, as he first appeared in Monster Hunter 2 in 2006. Also, it's me. I'm Monster Hunter fans and I'm excited about the poo-monkey.
The monster is known for its love of mushrooms and for weaponizing flatulence to release a toxic gas cloud mid-fight. Over the years, some of the most hard-core Congalala variations have been able release farts that are so powerful they're classified as "dragon power wind." I'm not kidding. You can check out the wiki if that's what you want.
Everyone on the Monster Hunter fan pages are excited to see Congalala return. As evidenced by the written word that has been passed down through the ages from the classical period to medieval scribes to Shakespeare to today, farts can be very funny.
Fans are happy to see the strange combination of hippopotamus head, ape body, monkey tail and I have no idea where those claws came from. One fan who was watching a stream noticed that the Congalala may have a weak spot on its backside that can be targeted and damaged using the Focus Mode feature that Wilds has introduced.
This summer has been a big one for Monster Hunter fans, who have gotten a glimpse of Wilds. We recently learned that it will be released simultaneously on PCs and consoles in February. The Gamescom event, with its 10-hour queue, was particularly eye-opening. It proved that the series had truly reached the mainstream.
If you missed the previews, here's a list of new Monster Hunter Wilds Features that will have you hollering and shouting. The spec requirements are bad news for older video cards, which will need to be upscaled in order to reach 720p at 30fps.
