Probably the best game I had the pleasure to play this year. Combining a very simple concept with a good presentation and an addictive enough gameplay to keep me playing for years to come, the game has breathed a lot of fresh air into the otherwise stale gaming market.

Moonbase Commander will stand out as the sleeper hit of 2002 and it deserves all the praise I am sure it will get.

Its graphics may be bland and its sound effects cheesy, but I can't stop playing the damn thing.

A deceptively simple overhead strategy game only slightly comparable to "Scorched Earth."... My only real disappointment with is the limited range of weapons.

The skimpy single player game, the lack of an internal matchmaker, the clean but very simple graphics and the inability to save your game make Moonbase Commander feel more like a hobby than a commercial product. That doesn't mean it's not fun.

Adults might find it simplistic, repititious, and boring, but it's possible that younger kids might find it accessible, challenging, and addictive.
